  1. I couldn't clip them out so I just cut them out. But that's no use if you plan on using the coupler again. If you want close coupling on the MK2Ds you should use the Roco type couplers that Hornby make.
  2. Been a bit dry on the workbench... Next up is a small upgrade for my mk2ds which consist of both Murphy and Lima models. Mainly just fitting close couplings to fix that massive gap between the Murphy coaches using Roco type couplings between coaches and Kadees at the ends of rakes and also fixing the glazing on the Lima coaches. I'm also trying to finish off a rake of Craven coaches (5 standards + 1 snack car + GSV), a rake of Galway mk2s (4 standards + 1 restaurant + EGV) and a rake of IE black roofed mk2s (2 standards + 1 composite + 1 restaurant + EGV). As for locos I hope to acquire at some stage 077, a 141, a 181 and 230. Here's a video I uploaded tonight of 201 and a rake of Cravens at several locations around the layout.
  3. I was always interested in circus transport because of the variety of rarely seen and often heavily modified transport they had, not to mention trucks from other countries like the big American bull nosed ones that some of the Courtney shows had. I'm adding a little scene to the railway layout of one circus that ran in 2005/6 that was put together by one of the main circus families using old tents and lorries previously retired. I'm pretty sure I saw a Hino tipper somewhere on this site Warbonnet but it may have been 1/87 scale.
  4. Thanks Paul. I can get the ERF cab from him alright and I'll just use the Oxford Scania 143. No model of the Foden ever existed however (yet).
  5. It was funny how careful the driver was approaching the buffers and he ended up driving them at least a meter after they touched.
  6. 074 on a steel train also hauling a timber wagon to Waterford, 086 Light engine, 088 hauling a DFDS liner, 077 hauling a timber train and some Cork, Galway, Westport, Portlaoise and Heuston passenger services in Kildare on Friday.
  7. I filmed 233 hauling an IWT liner and dead 232 being hauled from Cork to Inchicore by 074 along with the wagon transfer, some IWT liners and MK4 trains at Hazelhatch yesterday...
  8. Can anybody point me in the direction of a manufacturer that produces the following cabs in 1/76 scale in either RTR or kit form. A Foden s106 An ERF E10 A Scania 143M And a Mercedes 1827 Regards, Seán
  9. 229 moved the eleven remaining MK3s to North Wall today. They'll be brought to the port in the new year (I think) and shipped to Scotland where they'll be refurbished.
  10. Or you can open the table up in Word, press FN and prtsc at the same time to capture an image of the entire page including the table, then open Paint if you have it, press CTRL and v at the same time which will copy the image into Paint. Then crop the image so only the table is visible, save it, and upload and post the image to the site.
  11. There are oil wagons, plough vans, a brake van, several ballast hoppers and some of the four wheel flats left. One is in York road for the DDs, one is in Connolly for the DDs, one is in Inchicore for MK4s and there's at least one in Cork yard somewhere derailed. There was a wagon in Cork up until recently enough that was painted green that had a little winch on it and a 10' container that was to be used in the event of an accident with the Ammonia trains. I've looked around Limerick for the last bubble and unless it's in a shed, it's either moved somewhere else or scrapped.
  12. I'm also from Kilkenny and I go to RB Models in Clonmel now mostly. Sad to see the Waterford shop go.
  13. Great pics Glenderg! Does the bogie carrier ever leave Limerick on the transfers?
  14. I wouldn't be prepared to hand out the amount of money required for a model locomotive up front. I'm pretty happy just waiting for 121s, A classes and MK3s and in the mean time building up a collection of what PM has already produced. As we've heard before, the fast track to getting the 121s produced is the purchasing of PM's existing stock. I'm surprised no one has mentioned an interest in any proper RTR Irish Mk3s yet.
  15. Wonderful Weathering make and build kits and obviously, he does painting and weathering too. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Wonderful-weathering/111818828902939 The guy's name is Georgeconna on this site.
  16. I'd say Nidge will survive anyway. Wish I could say the same for Siobhan. As for Fran, he couldn't even make a break, it's fair to say he was beat on the brown. Vito in the Sopranos met his end similarly although he was dead before the snooker cue was inserted.
  17. I traveled on the trip from Cork to Dublin so I got shots in both locations as well as some in-train footage. An excellent little trip and well done to the RPSI.
  18. Apparently they wanted to buy two non push pull 201s.
  19. Great pics Wanderer! I caught it at Dromkeen along with some passenger trains.
  20. There are some close ups of the wagons in this video if it helps. It also shows how they are unloaded which is just by using a roadrailer to scoop the stuff out of the containers. You could contact the company that made them for dimensions and then convert them to 1/76 scale. Here's the company that made them. http://www.loughryaneng.com/website/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=68&Itemid=72
