When the class 56 got into difficulties while hauling the empty HAA hoppers-it was routed the the loop at Ashburton grove, Assistance came in the shape of a single class 20 which in turn pushed the train and locomotive to the up siding, after detaching the 56 the 20 ran around and worked the train forward, Here are a few photos of that operation.....

Yes looking towards Galway, Approximately a half of a mile from the level crossing to the cutting-see previous photos We intend to get the standard gauge track down first then get some locomotives and rolling stock operational before we look at the other side of the road. Thank you Colin, It will be all 5'3'' gauge track so its mainly that type of rolling stock that will be required for operations. -

A great day of work was completed at the spectacular Maam cross station, The cutting crew from Cork were buried for most of the day in the jungle but came out on top after successfully conquering the vegetation, The combined Mayo and Sligo crew were busy painting the level crossing gate posts and erecting the new old style sign at the entrance to the station, I brought along my drone and took these photos from the air of the location.....enjoy...- 417 replies

A project I have been working on over the last few week has finally been finished, I decided to scratch build a model of the Irish rail inspection car 722 using photos I took of the real vehicle taken in Sligo station a few weeks ago, I used the motorized Bachmann Plasser OWB10 chassis which has a DCC 8 pin socket fitted, I am delighted with the result,I also added three permanent way figures to the interior to represent the driver and permanent way inspector and an engineer. Its another useful addition to the ever increasing Permanent way department on Tara Junction.

2607+2608 arrives at the branch platform with a connecting service for the MK 4 set, 0117072 departs from the up main road hauling the Sperry wagon on its annual inspection of the layout, 216 propels the MK 4 set out of the platform making some noise as it departs, The crew of 071 take a well deserved break as it works the bogie spoil wagons. Both 216 and 072 have been fitted with Mr Sound-guys Real Drive sound chip which really make a difference.

Another excellent choice and the order has duly been placed... You might consider this livery version at some stage, I am sure it would be a winner.... (Copyright acknowledged to D.Hall) -

And very soon you will be able to enjoy this view from the comfort of the train-there will be no need to walk up or down that road..... -

Correct the view is not as good as the opposite side- at that particular location the bushes were removed to examine the culvert which was uncovered by us earlier in the year and found to be in excellent condition- the remainder of the trees on that side will be left in situ. When we first visited the site a few years ago we were unable to see the former line towards Galway as it was heavily overgrown and it did need some amount of clearance and we are all delighted with the results This is the view now.... -
Life at the junction just keeps on getting better and better.....thanks to IRM...... Having deposited the Sperry wagon into the permanent way sidings locomotive 0117072 shunted the weed spray coach 3187 into its normal formation with the water tank and storage container wagons.....and then its maiden voyage around the layout......
