The 071's were always present on the Rosslare Line in the late 1970's , I remember about 1979 one would work the Rosslare passenger every few months instead of the normal pair of 121's maybe something to do with driver training /familiarisation ?

I think the tablet catchers were the same height on all the locos I think the issue was have been the height of the window , which on a 121 was much higher than the other locos , this may have made the placement and retrieval of the staff from the snatcher more difficult? So in the original postion the snatcher was sitting at three o’clock from the cab side but in the revised position was the at five o’clock from the cab side and when pull back was easier for the snatcher man to retrieve ?

Oxford Rail are also doing a version these have the revised suspension (J hangers ) so they are nearer to the CIE ones . https://www.oxforddiecast.co.uk/products/class-b-tank-esso-unbranded-black-revised-suspension-47792-or76tkb002

No the Esso wagons only went to Sligo , Oranmore and Claremorris the wagons to the bus garages would have been CIE fuel/oil wagons . Some nice pictures of these Esso wagons on p59 and p92 in 'Rails through the west '.

Just one minor detail the Inchicore coach builders who put these coaches together were real craftsmen the rib's on the body work always matched the rib's on the roof this is very well illustrated in josefstadt's pictures -

Great work, the four battery boxes make all the difference, the bogies are the puppies private’s . I’m currently finishing off an IFM bogie TPO but I’m am holding back in the hope that you might release a 8’0” commonwealth bogie . -

The dynamo was mounted on the coach frame with the belt attached to the axle with a belt housing which clamped the the axle this was wide enough to allow for movement of the bogie but belts would still break for those of us old enough to remember the discarded dynamo belt's littered about the permanent way . -

I don’t think these coaches had storage tanks , but with battery boxes there is a lot of confusion all of these coaches park royals , buffet cars and brakes had four battery boxes two on each side this was common practice, worlsey works supply them with only two battery boxes , I recently got a IFM TPO and this only has two as well when it should be four . I think the confusion comes from UK coaches normally having two but in Ireland particularly with CiE it is four or if its a TL coach then it’s no battery boxes . -

Y Yes they had dynamos and battery boxes some were later fitted with TL lighting but many would keep the batteries/ dynamo until they were withdrawal in the mid 1980's . Great work on the laminate -
