  1. I got my hands on one of these tank wagons and they are the business super model .
  2. Just one minor detail the Inchicore coach builders who put these coaches together were real craftsmen the rib's on the body work always matched the rib's on the roof this is very well illustrated in josefstadt's pictures
  3. That is one of the finest laminate coaches I've have seen and the bogies bring it to the next level.
  4. Great work, the four battery boxes make all the difference, the bogies are the puppies private’s . I’m currently finishing off an IFM bogie TPO but I’m am holding back in the hope that you might release a 8’0” commonwealth bogie .
  5. The dynamo was mounted on the coach frame with the belt attached to the axle with a belt housing which clamped the the axle this was wide enough to allow for movement of the bogie but belts would still break for those of us old enough to remember the discarded dynamo belt's littered about the permanent way .
  6. I don’t think these coaches had storage tanks , but with battery boxes there is a lot of confusion all of these coaches park royals , buffet cars and brakes had four battery boxes two on each side this was common practice, worlsey works supply them with only two battery boxes , I recently got a IFM TPO and this only has two as well when it should be four . I think the confusion comes from UK coaches normally having two but in Ireland particularly with CiE it is four or if its a TL coach then it’s no battery boxes .
  7. Y Yes they had dynamos and battery boxes some were later fitted with TL lighting but many would keep the batteries/ dynamo until they were withdrawal in the mid 1980's . Great work on the laminate
  8. Some arrived for me as well from New Zealand , something to do over Christmas .
  9. I think these are the patterns for a white metal version
  10. Stunning piece of work
  11. They look spot on great detail well done .
  12. The carraige behind A42 looks like one the Radio Studios RS 25 ex 2117 or RS 26 ex 2118
  13. So now you can say that your going to 'give us your 15 cents worth' on the matter .
  14. 001 kept the highlighted numbers for many years afterwards which kind of made it unique .
  15. Great to see all the various liveries represented will be getting supertrain and Black and tan liveries . The only A class missing is supertrain liveried 001 with highlighted front numbers and black roof covers as ran with the early supertrain Mk2's , wonder if this maybe added in the future .
  16. I think the snatchers started being removed in the early eighties , snatching finished in 1979/80.
  17. Does it need new traction tyres?
  18. 019 was involved in a shunting mishap and had a bent frame as a result , IR used it to test the new livery for the 201's I don't think it ever ran in that livery.
  19. With the IFM TPO's , Park Royals, the Worlsey works laminates the missing link is 8' commonwealth bogie looks very well at this early stage , well done .
  20. Is that A42 ?? the damage looks different from this picture http://catalogue.nli.ie/Collection/vtls000148612/Home?lookfor=a42&submit=Apply
  21. I have a feeling that over the next number of months we are going to see a major sell off of silverfox/MIR A class locomotives on ebay etc
