It was a thought, the other possibility is to do the two tara wagons 31026,31027 which were built as shale wagons identified by the extra rib running the length of them.

That’s one of the oldest tricks in the book tell the guy your interested in buying 400 units he then gives you his best price and then you only order 30 !
Very interesting I would imagine it came about as a proposal when they were replacing the 4w TPO's in late 1960's they were eventually replaced with three GSR built coaches sating from 1935 which in turn became 2979,2980 and 2981 it would have been a waste of some fairly new Cravens. The three GSR TPO's built in 1935 converted in 1967/68 soldiered on in service until the early 1990's.
GSWR 813 was a Corridor Third class it was extensively modified internally to convert it into a Holiday Camping Coach following its withdrawal it was purchased by a syndicate of Mullingar working members in the early 1970’s to be used a dormitory/ canteen coach .
Great to see it at Maam Cross .
Thanks Mike still a bit to too but its certainly given me the impetus to do the rest 2 x1356 opens , 1x1339 side corridor, 1x2402 buffet and 1 x 1903 brake
Here at the slow coach wagon and carriage works I have finally finished my 3201 BSGV coach using JM Designs brass overlays this is possibly the most difficult one to do but was great fun and a great one to learn on prior to tackling the rest . Just a few touch ups and add the glazing , I added the container door locking bars which were a very distinctive detail on the 3200’s .
While JM Designs products are a little on the pricey side when one take's into account Tax and Carriage the products are absolutely superb on quality and accuracy the brake vans are well worth the money all things considered .
I see the IRRS Flickr site has been recently updated with another 4k of pictures bringing the total to about 19k images , the latest lot includes many rolling stock gems for the railway modeller including a green H van at Claremorris and brand new Palvans at Inchicore. All of the images have been scanned and restored by Ciaran Cooney over many months in his own time a very painstakingly slow task which as a modeller I for one am certainly appreciative of his efforts.
Yours truly even puts in an appearance in one image !
