  1. Yes I stand corrected 'Open Third ' with an additional door added at some point ?
  2. Absolutely ,wonder if they can lay track?
  3. GSWR 813 was a Corridor Third class it was extensively modified internally to convert it into a Holiday Camping Coach following its withdrawal it was purchased by a syndicate of Mullingar working members in the early 1970’s to be used a dormitory/ canteen coach . Great to see it at Maam Cross .
  4. There is a very nice picture of the interior of 837 taken By R N Clements on the IRRS flickr page.
  5. Lovely job
  6. Thanks Mike still a bit to too but its certainly given me the impetus to do the rest 2 x1356 opens , 1x1339 side corridor, 1x2402 buffet and 1 x 1903 brake
  7. Here at the slow coach wagon and carriage works I have finally finished my 3201 BSGV coach using JM Designs brass overlays this is possibly the most difficult one to do but was great fun and a great one to learn on prior to tackling the rest . Just a few touch ups and add the glazing , I added the container door locking bars which were a very distinctive detail on the 3200’s .
  8. While JM Designs products are a little on the pricey side when one take's into account Tax and Carriage the products are absolutely superb on quality and accuracy the brake vans are well worth the money all things considered .
  9. I see the IRRS Flickr site has been recently updated with another 4k of pictures bringing the total to about 19k images , the latest lot includes many rolling stock gems for the railway modeller including a green H van at Claremorris and brand new Palvans at Inchicore. All of the images have been scanned and restored by Ciaran Cooney over many months in his own time a very painstakingly slow task which as a modeller I for one am certainly appreciative of his efforts. Yours truly even puts in an appearance in one image !
  10. The Fan grilles on the 071 model are a particular type GM pattern which is a circular mesh , see picture
  11. Unfortunately Richard when you convert to €€€'s and add the custom's charge you could be looking at €250.00 to us in the EU , much better value to someone based in the UK .
  12. Always as part of the liner never in a block train as such.
  13. Beer kegs I think the scrap was used as a filler load you can make out another container of scrap further up the train the yellow paint was just numbers I think
  14. Mountrath 21-04-2000 Down 1205 North Wall -Cork liner crossing up ety Cork -Platin Cement
  15. Made up this 20ft container from a 20ft unpainted kit from C Rail and a scrap steel load cut to size from Ten Commandments models , added CIE decals . These 20’ containers were a regular on the Dublin -Cork liners bound for Irish steel at Haulbowline .
  16. Great work Phillip the other coaches carried similar markings on the bogies as in this picture of 4105
  17. The artist Patrick Scott was working for Michael Scott(no relation ) the architect of Scott Tallon Walker Architects, Michael Scott designed many Irish buildings including Busaras , Patrick Scott did all of the mosaics in that building . He was also later given the task of designing a new livery for CIE, part of the brief was to bring some uniformity and a streamlined look to the rolling stock which was all different shapes and sizes, so by using lines running the length of the train that gave a streamlined look white at the top black in the centre and brown /burnt clay at the bottom and yes part of the inspiration was his cat 'Miss Mouse' and her calico colouring of orange, black and white.
  18. A few on flickr And another from Jonathan Allen
  19. Not badly priced Murphy Models MM1701.MM1702.MM1703-PO01 RPSI Mk2 coaches - FK, TSO & BSO (hattons.co.uk)
  20. I think it means that the locomotive is not certified for use on the mainline .
  21. Fantastic job very realistic
  22. I’d would imagine as far as IRM are concerned if you buy them you can put the Titfield thunderbolt at the front of them !
  23. Not wanting to be marched out a shot at dawn but don’t suppose the factory would do a pack or two with round buffers as they were built .
