I would agree with you, next time 113 goes in for anything big to be done they will probably fit the LEDs. Interesting to note, 111s lights have a red/orange surround. I haven't asked but I'm wondering are they IÈ spares?

It's not for signalling. It's so it works with the translink fleet computers. Otherwise there would be a clash between railway stock and buses. As for the original question Rich, the best answer I can give you is some time between the end of the Derry line ballasting and july. She has been in for overhaul for some time now.
  3. Snapper, is this train a steam operation or 071? I ask as the photo on the Railtours Ireland site showing a 'private heritage train' shows an 071
  4. It must be going to be RPSI stock, if it's in collaboration with them. Maybe the MK2s? They look a bit neater than the cravens
  5. Just for anyone who isn't well versed in this locos history. This is C227, she was erroneously numbered 202 when displayed. From the looks of things she's in an awful state. Does anyone know if the engine and generator are intact?
  6. It works alright tony. Some power in the cutter too, as it's hydraulic. Also, very nice photos, sometimes the PWay stuff can be ignored in favour of locos and stock, so kudos for documenting it like this

    071

It is yeah. The 7 is just part of the UIC number. 071 was one of the first to get the new grey livery
  8. Because, tony, 209, as with all 201s, is part of a shared pool. As such, IE or NIR can use each other's 201s as the need arises. As IE have a bigger need for locos, naturally 209 often ends up on the Irish network. As well as that, prior to the addition of MK3 vans, 209 could not work DD stock as her HEP equipment is not operational, hence was not useable for the Belfast link
  9. The baby GM and short set puts me in mind of a Ballina branch working. Top job on the IFM park royals, they look to be a decent model of a very interesting and unique prototype
  10. That really is fantastic, and the livery is well applied aswell. Never knew the DVT drivers window was so tiny!
  11. Railer is correct- it was either a laminate, or maybe, a bredin that served as spray vehicle. I don't know that you would need more than one container in the consist
  12. I think we have reached the end of the line with this topic..
  13. Wow. Quite combo there. You could say it was a compound pun...
  14. Oh deary me heirflick! Where do you get these?
  15. Took a trip up to the north west yesterday. Here is a short video of 3023 arriving into Waterside station in Derry-Londonderry
  16. There'd be no point with Murphy Models already covering them, and to a better standard than a SF kit would be aswell. MIR used to do GM kits but they don't exist anymore and I doubt the GMs would even sell if they did
  17. Ed, I would imagine the early ones would be modelled without handrails wouldn't they? As these are, I think, separately fitted parts
  18. I said that a while ago in a separate thread. However it appears it doesn't cost very much less to make a dummy unit compared to a powered one
  19. Could you post up photos of the model when it is finished rich? Brunswick might be a bit too dark and the wrong sort of shade for an A
  20. Rich, you should ask jhb171achill on this board about it. He may even have a paint code you could use when buying paint
  21. Why did IE blank off those centre windows?

    MK3 Scrapping

Three more sounds about right. Won't be more than 6 at a time. Any longer than 6 exceeds the shunt limit at Adelaide and causes issues apparently
  23. I would expect there to have been some announcement prior to this. I'd take this with a pinch of salt
