  2. Happy Birthday Seamus! Hope you're keepin well!
  3. The 'easiest' option is the pocket wagons, spray them grey and make them dirty and hey presto, you've a fairly good representation of an irish intermodal wagon that's readily available. Most of the model shops sell them 'irishsized' too
  4. Thanks Broithe! Sweet I may give you a shout Dave I'm overdue a measure-up for the fiddle yard, helix, return loop and some storage!
  5. I'd say a 70-100cm radius curve would compliment the viaduct well? Would 3mm mdf be pliable enough?
  6. It is. Need to figure some hardboard to form the curve behind it to mount to
  7. I've a good few motors left to install and wire before the computer has anything to control But the idea is that routes and timetables can be set, the DMUs can be shuttled back and forth to the branches while I can play trains, shunting 'intercity' trains together, preparing freight, releasing engines in the terminus roads, etc It's amazing how simple driving a large layout can become when you have a computer figuring out all the routes! Have a lot of work to do before i get to that stage though! In other news, the postman dropped in a nice 3 foot tall backscene this morning...

  9. How did you fashion the dockside? Perhaps post your own thread to prevent this one going off topic? Would love to see more - and love the wiring!

  12. Ahem. Not yet Though I've great plans to kick into it as soon as I get the overhead lighting finished! Plan for the screens is Amiens street on the top with the two branches on the lower screen.
  13. Not much progress to report. Here's a photo to show the second screen for computer control running and a tasty overview of the utter mess and chaos around if

  19. Sounds promising so far guys... I'd be willing to put up 'sponsorship' on behalf of the Forum / Site for Dave to produce the base boards for those willing to engage, commit to posting their progress and who knows, perhaps some day in the future (soon) exhibiting the group effort as an IRM community layout?
