  1. Sound man richie. See you at the mrsi.
  2. I remember someone highlighting that kit on one of the previous sites a while back. The rivetting detail (no sniggers down the back please) is very good. Well worth the money...if yah had it!
  3. Murrayec, that is truly a fine model. The only comment I would make is that fully transparent windows would really make it amazing.
  4. That is a serious bit of kit. I have promised myself that I would do something similiar with the 10-Arch over the Blackwater someday.... well there's my inspiration to get the finger out...
  5. Hi Dave. Don't know how I missed your question. Yes I will be at the MRSI on Saturday and Sunday so it would be A great idea to meet up. Sure doesn't is happen every time anyway? Look forward to seeing you all there and hopefully a few of the newer lads....make sure to bring some of your lovely scratch built jobs.
  6. Sweet job Popeye, Richie, those etches look mighty fine. Might even get a set (don't know when I'll get to buld it though!), are they available to Seán Public and if so how much?
  7. Just got myself an RG4. Sweet gearbox mechanism and love the way the bevel gearing allows the motor to be turned. More impressed though by the reputed 50% efficiency rates as versus 20% for a wormgear equivalent. That's just ANIMAL power output. I'll have to look at dickying around to make an equivalent myself....though to quote Captain Evans, I may be some time.
  8. There's truth in that. While I love the Murphy Model MK2 EGVs and have a few of them, the one I researched and scratchbuilt will always take pride of place. I know the blood sweat and tears that went into every little detail. Especially overlapping and laminating about 20 strips of 1mm pvc lining to get the effect of the ventilation louvres!
  9. Never mind 'Er Indoors, what about the poor neighbours. I'll take Hell's Kitchen anyday....
  10. It was a great service. I remember posting letters for 7:30pm collection at Mallow and ALWAYs arriving at their Dublin destinations for 8:00am the following morning.
  11. That is a very tasty bit of kit. And simple too.
  12. Very well done, and great background photos. In the event that any of ye want a full set of transfers to cover this diagram, I'll do them...€9
  13. Ah now that is just brilliant.
  14. Dave, that emoticon is sending out some very mixed messages...floaty love hearts? Jeeeeeeezus.
  15. Focus lads.... Focus!!! Off to boards.ie if ye want to talk bog ball.
  16. John, you know as you've done it already. Having said that, I believe that 3-D printing is going to be massive in the next 10-15 years. Even as it is, they can 3-d print titanium. http://i.materialise.com/materials/titanium Some high end printers can do layers as thin as 20 microns
  17. C'mere Magpie. Any chance of a bigger photo of your Avatar? That looks like a mighty fine Park Royal.
  18. Wow. Only one thing, who knows 3-d Cad?
  19. I bought some and printed it off, very tasty. The associated arches sheet is the dogs b*ll*x! Superb. Very well thought out product altogether.
  20. Yeahhhh!
  21. Animal of a yoke. Looks great.
  22. I remember meeting Joe when working on the GSRPS in Mallow in the early 80's. An absolute gentleman. He really was a feature at every railway function. May he rest in peace.
  23. Popeye, superb photo there, very good wagon and track weathering. And thanks for the detail on where the wall came from. It really looks the business. Is that Random Ashlar Texture Sheet TX46?

Thanks lads, the feedback is always welcome. I need to make some final adjustments to the master and we should be in business in 4-5 weeks.

    DART Model

Ah yes, the Commitments. That opening shot over the Isaac Butt bridge, soundtracked to "Destination Anywhere". Magic. And Dublin being presented as a proper metropolis on film, with nary a diddlyiddle in site (other than the Corrs auditioning of course).
