  1. No, presumably the photo is in your personal Google mail or somewhere so I just ended up on the Google main page This is the unrebuilt version from SF website which is what I think you got
  2. Finally got this straight thanks to all of you. Nice video and good little layout, Eamonn. Must be the sunny south-east to have it outside. Thanks, David for your input. Noel, is your center car the power car for your DMU? Have you triple headed anything with your DCC, it's NCE? If so, it's odd looking brown hose-pipes versus the cost of two lighting decoders one for each end car. Might be better in the long run? One more question folks… If I were to install something like Enniscorthyman's setup and later wished to have cab lighting for the cars and/or lighting for the passenger compartment, what would I need in terms of a decoder. I presume the TCS light decoder is good for maybe two functions (red and white marker nights, respectively). Do I need one to handle four functions (i.e.cab, and passenger comp lights)
  3. Wait away, Paul. We don't seem to have (m)any other options right now. MM models might never even put out an A class. The only thing that PM has 'committed to' right now is the 121 and that won't happen until enough capital investment has been recouped form all of the stock out there still on the shelves. To boot, there has been a lot of concern and discussion regarding the Supertrain liveried MK2ds which might not fly off the shelves as had been stated prior to release. tic-toc……….
  4. Noel has one by the sound of it. I know he has an A for sure. Noel have you DCC'd yours yet? I think Noel was asking what livery, silver, green, black, black/orange, supertrain? Paul, any chance of a photo, btw?
  5. OMG! It's fixed. It used to be that we could only see one page followed by C++ or something. That is SO much better!! Well done. Thanks:tumbsup:
  6. Yes, sorry, but I'm with Irishthump on this. Life's way too short for that but until we have alternatives… which we don't. You have ZERO chance of EVER seeing this produced by MM. At 4-5 years per model he'll have long retired by the time you get to the J15. If you can get 189 others interested you could do a limited run of 300 yourself:D
  7. Doubt it, nothing new on their website. Pretty sure they'd have made a big deal of it. Looks very similar to me except for better lighting and maybe more cleanly painted grills. What did you think was different? At STG100 (E135, USD153, in real money)………. would expect a huge improvement versus SF
  8. Thanks, Stephen. THis looks good. Need to read this:tumbsup:
  9. Hi David, Is the DBSO powered or its a true push/pull? You must at least have a second speaker in the DBSO for sound? THe DBSo pickups are for sound/light but are not connected back to the motor, correct?
  10. Any idea if this US loco is in any way related to them? I pass these most days (short-cutting) my way to work. They're frequently shunting oils or hoppers usually singly or occasionally in consists bonnet to bonnet. BNSF owns the track but other than a passing resemblance to the the 121s (they're on rails with a single cab!) I've no idea if they're even a GM. Pardon my ignorance on US outline, hence they question….
  11. Why hypothetically or otherwise would you be sitting in the middle of a track at night unless you'd fallen over the first rail on the way from the pub:cheers: and thankfully landed on a track without a third rail=))
  12. I think they looked great in this livery, not sure how well that might have weathered though! Shows the snail to great effect on the bonnet. I think it not just the single cab which makes it look a little odd (at least to our minds, having seen the double cabbed GMs for so long) but also the height of he cab which looks a little awkward even now. Obviously it was this tall to allow it to run bonnet first. I think this is taller than the coaches it pulls. I wonder if the US loading gauge is taller in general the in Ireland. Any US outline enthusiasts?
  13. I think you are right, Tony. It certainly looks that way from the above.
  14. Actually Dave has likely found a mint box for them and they're unlikely to be seen again
  15. Hi, I am wondering if it is possible to install a DCC decoder in an Irish outline DMU like the Bachmann 2700 class (30-051) with proper control of the directional marker lights and cab lights (I am not certain that it has the latter as I don't have one yet) I did not see anything in our new DCC sub forum and was wondering if anyone has done this. I had a look online at RMweb and the main solutions seem to be 1. A single motor control chip in the power car and a two-function second chip in the non-powered car to control lighting 2. A chip in each car (fortunately only two cars in this DMU) so they effectively run as 'a consist' (although one is unpowered). I believe the advantage of the latter method is to circumvent some issues the chip in the unpowered car would encounter working out direction of motion. DESIRABLE 3. If possible it would be nice to separate the cars as required for storage or servicing, which is why I didn't want to send several long wires to the lighting on the unpowered car. 4. At some point in the (probably distant) future I would likely wish to light the passenger compartment of the cars and it would be good to future proof them rather than binning everything and starting from scratch. Any comments appreciated. Thanks, Kevin
  16. Please PM me if you have one to sell (or even the set 30-051, but would prefer pack as set is bulky to ship) Thanks, Kevin
  17. Can anyone elaborate on the Turfburner a little bit as I didn't find this info going back through the thread. Obviously it ran on turf which doesn't have very concentrated hydrocarbons like coal or anthracite. Was this the sole fuel? How long did it take to get this thing started in the morning? Did the boiler operate at the same pressure? what was performance like? Was it the only one? Did it see service or mainly experimental? Thanks, Kevin
  18. Sure, Dave, I realized that, and they were in IE in the Lima packs before. It's just odd that one wouldn't choose unique numbers for anything produced before, like MM0071 and MM7071 for example
  19. Dave, this is exactly the photo I was thinking of when I posted in #16. Are they Weshty's kits? I thought I read before they were commissioned
  20. Oh fantastic, as if it wasn't unstable enough already
  21. Some beautiful shots there, Jim. Magnificent vessels. The only problem with them is when you need to get off (no, not want to get off). The Carnival Triumph still docks nearby but let's not bring that up again! I do appreciate your reference to the intergalactic shopping trolley though:ROFL: The Grand Princess is still a a beauty though
  22. Aaaah! Some beautiful vessels there, Tom. These are moderate size cruise ships more suited to the The British Isles These are some of the bad boys (gals) that frequent the Gulf Coast They're about 950' long and draft about 25-27 feet each DISNEY MAGIC [/ATTACH] CARNIVAL MAGIC RHAPSODY OF THE SEAS
  23. Sure they lifted every rail for the scrap , every sleeper to fill a gap and sold the permanent way so the local farmer could have more briars on the ditch. The stone is right there, why wouldn't they quarry it! Eejits:mad:
