    Hi Rich, Thanks for your interest and your comments. I look forward to seeing you build this kit. Even though I like the bachmann scenecraft Irish outline buildings they are very limited in number and except for the smallest of displays I would need something more anyway. It would be nice to be able to put something on the layout with more of an Irish flavor Hopefully they are reasonably durable over time and do not fade to easily I guess they could always be replaced in time if required.     BK, I understand that economies of working with a limited audience and agree with you. Despite their initial foray into Irish outline with PM they did not do a 500 limited run at least while PM is 'competing' for this small market. Hence my original concern, with only one real RTR producer, Irish outline rtr would be plunged back into the medieval ages (and no offence is intended to some on here who produce some very fine kits and those who model them)

    You could make a foundation slab with the polyfilla large enough to be the floor and a peripheral foundation for the shed itself to raise it back to rail height. I suspect that this will provide enough clearance for the 201s. The slab foundation will look well with the face of the shed which appears to resemble concrete and the side which is brick could be painted as a plinth, disguised with brick plasticard, shielded with ballast along the side tapering from the shed to road 5, or weeds and 'scrubby plants'.

    But no discussion of an A class or anything to follow the 121? We have all got so used to the MM models that I wonder who would pick the baton if anything happened to PM. Even though Bachmann did many of the earlier models for him, its not like they decided there was a market for modeling Irish outline after that…..

    You got to remember that they lifted every piece of track and scrapped every loco for the bare value of the scrap metal!

    Since all the moderators seem to be on this thread, can I just ask if it is possible to search these longer Threads and find the search term on the actual page rather than just the thread its in which might be 100 pages long or am I just not doing it right?

    Shouldn't be and if requested as Gaeilge that would even be acceptable given the selection of fine Irish speakers on the site

    I hope not! When I suggested that a re-run of some more popular sold out items might be feasible, I received some replies suggesting the tooling etc for small runs like MM does would not be up to it. Seems like the tooling for the 201s seems to be up to the task again… and again… and maybe yet again?

    I agree with Noel. I had always hoped to see a high(er) speed network built during the Celtic Tiger, the only chance they'd ever have to do this. Most of the existing fleet capable of 100mph but on a tiny minority of the existing track, let alone trying to lay any new track. However, I don't know which is worse lamenting the loss of the Mk3s or IE not having learned from the Buttevant disaster re structural integrity of the coaches and running them all these years, luckily without incident,I think?

Actually was aware of Colm Creedon's book and tried to get a hold of one online recently. I was outbid by a £1! Let me look at these resources. They sound great!!
