  1. You could make a foundation slab with the polyfilla large enough to be the floor and a peripheral foundation for the shed itself to raise it back to rail height. I suspect that this will provide enough clearance for the 201s. The slab foundation will look well with the face of the shed which appears to resemble concrete and the side which is brick could be painted as a plinth, disguised with brick plasticard, shielded with ballast along the side tapering from the shed to road 5, or weeds and 'scrubby plants'.
  2. But no discussion of an A class or anything to follow the 121? We have all got so used to the MM models that I wonder who would pick the baton if anything happened to PM. Even though Bachmann did many of the earlier models for him, its not like they decided there was a market for modeling Irish outline after that…..
  3. I need one, saw where this was going and stopped bidding. Not paying double the odds
  4. Now that's a RTR model i would be interested in! (times three)
  5. no, but the perspective is good when seen from the front:cool:
  6. You got to remember that they lifted every piece of track and scrapped every loco for the bare value of the scrap metal!
  7. Since all the moderators seem to be on this thread, can I just ask if it is possible to search these longer Threads and find the search term on the actual page rather than just the thread its in which might be 100 pages long or am I just not doing it right?
  8. Well, not exactly local US to Australia New Zealand and more….=D=D
  9. Shouldn't be and if requested as Gaeilge that would even be acceptable given the selection of fine Irish speakers on the site
  10. I hope not! When I suggested that a re-run of some more popular sold out items might be feasible, I received some replies suggesting the tooling etc for small runs like MM does would not be up to it. Seems like the tooling for the 201s seems to be up to the task again… and again… and maybe yet again?
  11. I agree with Noel. I had always hoped to see a high(er) speed network built during the Celtic Tiger, the only chance they'd ever have to do this. Most of the existing fleet capable of 100mph but on a tiny minority of the existing track, let alone trying to lay any new track. However, I don't know which is worse lamenting the loss of the Mk3s or IE not having learned from the Buttevant disaster re structural integrity of the coaches and running them all these years, luckily without incident,I think?
  12. Thanks for the PM, Leslie. I have responded to you. Thanks to everybody else who PMs me on this. I appreciate your support.
  13. Missed your post until now but got them on the email already:cheers:
  14. 201s are not really my thing but I'm thinking about one and Bandon is in Munster.... (yes, I guess you all knew that already)
  15. Good man, snapper! Enjoyed watching it!!
  16. Thanks, RS226!! Mike it looks like we may not need to trouble your buddy with these resources online! Thank you for the offer! You too RS226! Actually was aware of Colm Creedon's book and tried to get a hold of one online recently. I was outbid by a £1! Let me look at these resources. They sound great!!
  17. Whoops! Silly me! Just saw your location. If your friend in Dunmanway doesn't mind that wouldn't be fantastic!
  18. There was a great article on Albert Quay including a track layout in one of the Irwell Press magazines and Ernie Shepherds CBSCR (Ian Allen Publishing) includes a lot of good photos of the system in both the steam and diesel era If anyone has a copy of this is good condition that you're willing to part with at a fair price, would you please PM me? Thank you Kevin:trains:
  19. Mike, I am also interested in CBSCR. If you're in West Cork and snap any photos, upload them here or PM me for an email address if that is easier. If you're on the Cork-Bandon road and can shoot any photos of the stone bridges at Half Way, the river bridge crossing at Inishannon or the embankment with road tunnels before reaching Bandon that would be great. Thanks if you can. Kevin
  20. I disagree. We just need to interest the 1.3 billion Chinese with their new found wealth into modeling Irish outline models for nostalgic reasons, produce everything large scale and we can get the price down
  21. I have collected seventeen MM locomotives since I started back into (now) Irish outline very recently. Only three of these are presently available for purchase at RRP. Every other locomotive has been purchased used for at least the original price or substantially greater than that from a variety of sellers on this site, associated with this site,or on eBay. I have now supported Murphy Models, the priginal model shop/vendor, and the subsequent owner/seller. I expect all who are now flush with my hard earned cash, to support BK and purchase 201s so that I can finally buy a 121!
