  1. Great stuff John. An excellent resource for me, and anyone else who would be building the kit.
  2. Thanks John. I think the darker green looked better, the lighter green(in my opinion) didn't suit them very well.
  3. Wouldn't the brass chassis be better for that?
  4. These photos showing them under construction, and brand new show them with both wipers. The twin sulzers also lacked one of their wipers. I'm surprised that I have not noticed it until now, as something like that would seem much more obvious.
  5. When were they fitted with the other John? I remember seeing a picture of an A in green(one of the ones with the darker shade methinks) with both wipers. I think it was 1958-9.
  6. Steam you say? Count me in. Note A7 is missing a window wiper, along with, from what I can see, her window frames too.
  7. Some 29000s were vandalised on the Achill line last night, with the words"bring back the D16s!" Crudely spray painted. Makeshift fortifications have been made by the vandals, who had rifles, old Lima coaches labelled"to throw" and multiple empty oil barrels. After complaints from the trade unions, 5 D16s were built, along with multiple 6 wheelers. The fortifications soon disappeared. CIE dark green and blackntan has been brought back. The 141s have been rebuilt, and two were given to NIR,to assist the remaining Hunslet. The new "standard locomotives" have proved very successful, and are to be scrapped next year.
  8. IE awoke the ghost of Watson, to design and build a new batch of 400s,to help the Meabh and the Maglevs on the Cork line, but they then found out why they were rebuilt, so then awoke Bazin too, who built the 500s again as well. IE then realise the futility of diesels, and approach John Beaumont for drawings. He agrees, but only on the term that he can blow up a bunch of 22000s and then take pictures of the wreckage, with his Australian camera:D
  9. Gets a bit worrying when you realise your fooling yourself...
  10. The Achill line is to be reopened, worked by 29000 class... A line between Belfast and Baltimore is opening on the 30th February next year. NIR is considering buying a new batch of AEC and BUT railcars, with IE, to run the line. 5 new Beyer Garrets are being built for the tough gradients of the T&D,with the cattle specials, for the fair of dingle next month. 50 new "standard" 2-6-0 locomotives are being built, to take over services from the ICRs...
  11. Meabh has been removed from Cultra, to help haul the MK4s Merlin is going to haul the refurbished enterprise. The turfburner, is being rebuilt, after The directors of IE were given good good shouting at by the ghost of Bullied, to work the Tara mines! The 071s are to be reduced to minimal duties, after IE announced that 20 new J15s were to be built.
  12. Liam Clare,2007. Not sure where one would get a copy. Nonsuch publishing? The link beneath the pic of the book might provide a few more details... I know EVERYTHING! (Not medically accurate)
  13. Could this be the book John? http://www.industrialheritageireland.info/TikiWiki/tiki-index.php?page=The+Bray+and+Enniskerry+Railway
  14. They seem to have a 10 coupled one now...
  15. I'm thinking of taking the chassis apart, and buying the Poppy's wood tech jig and building it around that.
  16. I didn't know what the spacer bars were until it was too late, so I went through a lot more hardship than I needed too. Are you using compensation? They wouldn't be easy for that.
  17. Actually, what if Irish rail was privatised, into 2-3 different companies, maybe in 2011?
  18. Thanks for the advice, it's working well now.
  19. Not far off Broithe! This looks like CIE green... What the Hell is going on!? Something that looks like a roundel on one side,a green interior, and of LNER design?
  20. In the case, minister, it seems we have ruined the status quo! John will be baffled!
