  1. I think this will be great for Ballyercall’s return. These bring back childhood memories. I will be ordering at least 3. Thanks IRM. Now just announce the 80 class and the MV’s and I’ll sell the house!
  2. 101&102 in blue chevron. 103 was lying in Ballymena yard awaiting scrapping, not sure what year it met the cutters torch, mid 90’s
  3. No criticism here, I think we are very well served for such a small market. Just wondering is the 20’ container flat easily produced from the existing tooling? I think that would be a great little wagon to compliment the 42’ one. Also the amount of items on special reduction sales in many UK model shops shows a market downturn.
  4. I’m still saving for that ultimate 80 class!
  5. Sorry to hear this. I think it just reflects the times. All the household essentials have went through the roof cost wise. I know I have to much more selective and keep to the IR era of the late 80/early90’s. And I have always been blessed with good employment.
  6. Any updates on the next run of 071/111 locos?
  7. Facts The DD’s will be with us to 2030 They will only ever run on the Belfast to Dublin route The vast majority of service issues since early July have been delayed buses caught up in congestion on the M1 A1 corridor The number two issue for service delays has been congestion and lost paths on the approach to Connolly I can never understand the constant negativity towards the DD’s as they are not the biggest issue this route currently faces at the moment. Read points 3&4. Facts. I can go on.
  8. Facts help get a clearer understanding
  9. DD’s will be in service to the year 2030
  10. Hourly service will be 3 DD sets, 2 ICR’s and 1 3000 6 car set.
  11. ExYR in the morning 0438 for Portadown. Then on the 0631 ex Portadown to Dublin
  12. Several issues with the NIR 110’s that rule out DD haulage in public service/rail tour. Firstly as stated, door control, secondly speed restriction on class, thirdly come the new hourly timetable no stock will ever be available to run anything other than enterprise services. I can keep going but I can safely say DD haulage with passengers with anything other than a 201 won’t be happening.
  13. Hourly services should be available about six weeks after the two hourly services being introduced
  14. What’s with the grey roof on the Mk2 coach? Did they run like that in real life? Interesting model
  15. Running smoothness and the sound are possibly the best in the market. It’s the first non North American model that made me think the British market has caught up at last with their quality.
  16. Colas Class 56 myself. Fantastic model.
  17. 10 years ago this forum basically had little reason to exist there were so few Irish Railway modelling products available. It’s great we have so much to talk about. Sure I don’t agree with everything but that’s life, and with the world on the brink of another world war model railways are the most important thing!
  18. There certainly is a stigma with model railways and interest in railways in general in Ireland yet when I worked in England I often got into conversations about them with workmates and found more and more of them had an interest. I think with so many of them going to preserved railways for a day out also made them question how it all worked. Although that maybe an engineering thing!
  19. Now done, thanks. Just another question but is the TPE Mk5 Driving Trailer lighting decoder with stay alive suitable for the NIR Mk2 Driving Trailer lighting?
  20. Has there been any update from IRM about the coaches that came with the incorrect width bogies?
  21. Six sets. 3xDD’s 2xICR’s 1xCAF
