I -love- your track weathering too - blast of the airbrush? The concrete sleepers looks stupendously effectively weathered!!

A another coat of ballast and some really grimy oil stains on that section of track through the station Stephen. I need to get the other platform finished first.

Something about the side profile MM Mk2s looks off to me all the time. I don't know what it is but the body shape looks like it is too long from the underframe to the windows. The only time they look right to me is when I have them titled back for a very low angle. To me the Lima Mk2s look more accurate in overall shape but they are shorter in length for some reason.

I see that Rails have 3 versions of Black roof.

MM5217 & MM5210 that I know about but where has MM5232 come from.???

Is this a mistake on Rails behalf or is there a third Black roof coach.??

Ta,

Wiggy.

5232 has not been produced

It was one of the numbers being considered when the coaches were first brought to production

Only 2 black roofed ones, 5210 & 5217 and the Orange one 5229

Other numbers bantered about at the time were 5290 & 5213, neither of which were produced

Yeah, to agree with what Dave said, these were just plans. The running numbers changed since.

Despite them being superseded by MM5210, MM5217 and MM5229, if you take a look at the official Murphys Models site you can continue to see the initial plans for them, as it states MM5290, MM5213 and MM5232 are the next batch of MK2D's Standards coming out. I imagine some of the retailers have either got confused by this and thought there was more coming out or were not too worried about updating their site on the change of the running numbers.

I haven't the MM model of the MK11 EGV in the Galway livery. I notice from photos that the missing door hinges on the corridor side of the models have been corrected on this release. Fair play to MM for listening and having this corrected.

Please can anybody enlighten me on which numbers where produced so far by MM.

All I can find in the shops is: 5210, 5217, 5229, 5411 and 5601.

But on MMs website there are a lot more listed.

MM5290, 5213, 5232 Standard Coaches in IE livery

MM5411 Restaurant & 5601 EGV in Galway livery

Models Released thus far are:

MM5401 Restaurant Car in IE with black roof

MM5609 EGV in IE with orange roof

MM5236 Standard Coach in IE with orange roof

MM5407 Restaurant Car in IE with orange roof

MM5602 EGV in IE with black roof

Finally, details of new releases for 2014.

Arriving in time for the October show in Dublin will be Class 201 #230 'River Bandon' in original Enterprise livery and #233 'River Clare' in original Enterprise livery with full yellow cab ends.

And due at the end of November, in time for Christmas, will be the next batch of Mkii coaches. Livery will be CIE Supertrain. There will be 7 coaches comprising 1st., Composite, 3 Standards, restaurant, and EGV.

Class 201s will be limited quantities, price TBA. Mkiis will be usual quantities, again price TBA.

As, no doubt, you are aware, labour costs in China have increased substantially over recent years and this year are up by 10% so I reckon there will be an increase in price

Finally the Enterprise 201s, and thankfully a full yellow face one too. Still no NIR blue 209 but 233 more than makes up for it.

Poor old 230 never survived in service to see it's model hit the shelves.

Why Limited quantities is that to bump up the price a bit? Bearing in mind the Chinese have now added 10% on costs and for some of us we don't get a 10% pay rise......

It's not that simple... limited quantities is probably just because there isn't enough demand for those liveries. Let's not turn this into running down Murphy Models who have undoubtedly produced some of the best Irish models ever!

I'd say the limited numbers will be 252 units like 111,113 and the slate 071s. That and the fact the 201s don't seem to be shifting as quick as the BGMs or 071s. You can still get all the 201s except for 201 itself easy enough.

Good news that there will be MK11 Composite and Super Standard coaches albeit in the Supertrain livery. Hopefully 2015 will see them released in the IE liveries. I was really looking forward to 230 in the original Enterprise livery. Hopefully 209 in NIR blue will be released sometime in the future to complete the liveries carried by all the prototypes.
