I've started a flickr account finally and I'll be updating with pics as I go through them over the next few weeks so be sure to check back. Plenty of foreign muck from me as you'd expect but more Irish interest than you might've thought! ;)

click here and bookmark! if you like what you see.

nice one Fran - good luck with it!

Lovely Fran, the State Coach is beautiful. The episode of Trainspotting when they were in Dublin where Charles Meredith gave them a look around the coach showed how amazing a piece of rolling stock it is. We should be very proud of it.

The interior of the state coach is beautiful, I just wished I got more and better pics as it was a bit of a rush at the time. Lovely model Dave, I'm 90% sure she got Black & Tan too if you feel the need for a second one. The paint job on that one is 1st class.

Very nice Dave, very nice. I am having visions of you having a nice glass of Brandy in the Kings chair while putting the world to rights.

Rich,

Cider Rich, Brandy is for people who do not have to pay for their gargle!

It's a long time since a Mark 3 gleamed sadly...

It's a funny thing that the roofs on the MK111's never really weathered as bad as other coaches. I suppose as they were the top link coaches on the network that they kept them clean above the chassis. There was always a set in the wash plant at Heuston, as well as the machines that used to wash the sides from the platform.

by any chance do you have a pic of these?

Unfortunately I don't Seamus. My desktop hard drive crashed last year and all my photos are on it, and there were 2 photos of the cleaner. They can I hope be retrieved, but I'll wait until the silly season is over before I get it looked at. I will have a look around on the web and see if something shows up.

Morning all,

A couple of pictures from Portarlington, Heuston and Abbey Street from earlier today. Highlights include a LUAS failure at Abbey Street and 3003 being propelled by 3017 to clear the line.

Also, I spent the last week in New York, with a day trip to Washington D.C. Pictures from that trip are now online at http://smu.gs/1jkLYzY

Highlights include:

- Plane journey to and from JFK onboard Aer Lingus A330.

- Aerial views of Ireland and Long Island.

- Official opening of 4 WTC. The first building to be opened on the rebuilt WTC site.

- Photos from various locations in Manhattan.

- New York Subway, Amtrak, Metro North and Long Island Railroad photos.

- The High Line. Which is an urban park using a former railway line.

- Intrepid Air and Space Museum in New York.

- Day Trip to Washington D.C.

Enjoy!

Fran you legend, I've been after some shots of the small air dryer filter for a while. The box beside the air reservoir tanks needs to be hacked around a bit also as it is too small on the model, but it can be done. The weathering looks especially nice and understated on 220, like she hasn't been out of the paint shop that long.

If you manage to get some shots of the triple filter on the other side of a 201 it would be hugely appreciated.

Rich,

No bother Rich. I always wondered if the box was too small, the air tanks themselves were too small, or both!

I'll see what I can do in the new year, but it's a bugger getting close to these fellas other than standing on a platform! It's a pity there's no more tours of Inchicore but sure we know who's to blame for that!

A few more prototype photos from myself uploaded. I'm going to go for the more unusual and for stuff not always photographed but that might be of use to modellers (as well as the more glamorous stuff!) when I go back out with the camera. http://www.flickr.com/photos/77496544@N07/with/10965533366

Go for it Fran. I suppose that we always go for the money shot when a loco or piece of rolling stock passes. The more uninteresting parts of a loco, wagon, coach, per way vehicle are as you have said of huge importance to modellers.

Stored 3ICR 22014 was moved from Laois Train Care Depot to Inchicore Works for wheelset attention on Tuesday 26th November 2013. As 22014 cannot be started it had to be hauled up dead in train by 22051 at 35mph. The 1320 Laois Depot - Inchicore movement is pictured passing Cherryville Jct.

With the Inchicore Wheel Lathe full to capacity this week, Limerick requested could they send 2803 + 2804 to Laois Train Care Depot for wheel turning on their lathe. The empty movement from Limerick was pictured at Clonkeen Bridge with the 0750 Limerick - Laois Depot.

Evening all,

There was another Red Line Tram failure in Dublin City Centre on Thursday 28th November. "The Doctor" was on hand at St. Steevens Lane, near Heuston Station to photograph 3004 being pushed by 3016 back to the Red Cow Depot.
