I must be thick. I don't get it, could someone explain how 161 and 171 are something special? It's hardly 141-D-201071 or something mildly interesting...

I was wondering the same thing! :confused: If it was 071 on the 40th anniversary of the large GMs I'd get it but don't get the significance of 161 & 171.

The managing director of Gouldings Fertilizer used to drive a 300 Merc, reg IO IO20

IO was the old Kildare reg

IK was mid 75 to mid 76

I also remember seeing a hearse in Roosky with the reg RIP 1, however RIP was never issued by the county

Yes 10-10-20 was a favourite with farmers

I think IP was a Tipperary registration, so that hearse must have been originally bought there.
