Dave Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 (edited) Hi Guys, I have been working away on a new website for the last few weeks, it features a new on-line shop with a lot of new products with more being added all the time. I haven't officially transferred the domain yet and I would be very grateful for your feedback on what you think and what could I do better before I officially launch it. You can buy anything that is in the shop at the moment and everything is in stock. Many thanks. Here is the link http://www.modelrailbaseboards.com Edited May 1, 2016 by Dave Quote
Broithe Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Nice - the scan of the images at the top is just the right speed, they're often too slooooow. You use helix's and helices for the plural of helix - helices for me. Quote
murrayec Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Hi Dave Looking good, very easy to operate, nice and clean looking Wish you the best for the launch Eoin Quote
josefstadt Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Nice one Dave. All the best with the new site. You use helix's and helices for the plural of helix Helix's is the singular possesive form. The plural of helix is helixes or helices, the latter being the most common version. Quote

aclass007 Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 The site looks great.. Almost as good as your baseboards..... Quote
Dave Posted May 1, 2016 Author Posted May 1, 2016 Thanks guys The new site is being changed over to the new domain so might be down for a while. Thanks for all your input. Quote
DiveController Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 (edited) Helix's is the singular possesive form. The plural of helix is helixes or helices, the latter being the most common version. The plural form of English nouns ending in -ix or -ex should always follow their Latin root and form with -x being replaced by -ces for the plural nominative form of the noun, helices, cortices, etc EXCEPT in the US where all bets are off and some sentences do non even require a verb in the vernacular. How that? Edited May 1, 2016 by DiveController Quote

How that? Flex? Fix? Once you write a 'rule' for English, you've had it. Quote

Dave Posted May 1, 2016 Author Posted May 1, 2016 Looks good Dave, had to hunt for the Storage section but eventually found it. Thanks Kieran, still lots of tweaks to make. I'll see if I can get it into the main menu. Lots of products up on the shop, been at it all day! Quote
Noel Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Looks good Dave, had to hunt for the Storage section but eventually found it. Well buried on the site but very nice storage units. Do they have padding or an anti-rub surface on the inside floor of each compartment? Quote
Dave Posted May 1, 2016 Author Posted May 1, 2016 Well buried on the site but very nice storage units. Do they have padding or an anti-rub surface on the inside floor of each compartment? They can be made with padding fitted. The ones pictured the clients wanted to do that themselves. Quote
Dave Posted May 1, 2016 Author Posted May 1, 2016 Have a solution. The problem is I can only have a certain amount of navigation buttons. So I'll do a products page instead with everything there. Quote
Dave Posted May 2, 2016 Author Posted May 2, 2016 I have now added a products page that links to Baseboards, Storage units and Helices. This has now freed up the navigation bar and no more hidden menus. Thanks again guys for your input Quote
