David Holman Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Hopefully, the shed is still healthy and as others have said, a quick set up to just run trains may prove to be just the tonic. 4
Patrick Davey Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Such an excellent space with amazing potential - fingers crossed it will see trains running in the near future. 1 2

I've a bit more of the boring stuff to get through, like track laying and wiring. But yes, I'm really looking forward to the scenic side of things. 5

It was originally done back in 2014 by @Flying Scotsman 4472. A few years ago, I removed the bodyshell and fitted a speaker to use with the 567 sound decoder. I also added a driver and replaced the wipers with a finer version from SSM. Some tidying up was required with the airbrush after dismantling, but she still looks as good all these years later. 2 1

The Ballast and Gypsum wagons are a favourite of mine. Much as I love the Ballasts, and it’s hard to be consistent with a favourite, I think that maybe the Tara’s and Ferts top the list for me. That felt like an era of really top notch models, extreme accuracy, and excellent pricing, the pinnacle for Irish models of freight stock. 1
