All you need is a Freightliner 40'... Oh, wait...
-
Worth whatever somebody is prepared to pay - for me, about a third of that price.

IRM models now available via the accurascale website
DJ Dangerous replied to BosKonay's topic in News
Dun dun duuuunnnnn... I hope that you'll be quadrupling the run sizes from now on, so... And that those two-tone green Dublin Buses (which you are probably holding back until Christms just to troll us) will only be available on the Irish site! -
You lucky dancing banana!

What's the rule of thumb on Irish-izing open wagons? Any fixed number of planks or bracing design or anything like that, or will they all do once painted grey and weathered to death? I have some Dapol A001 opens in my Hattons trunk as they looked pretty close to my JMD IWC1004 opens. The PW Covered Van looks very good, I need some more of JMD's as I couldn't assemble and paint one to save my life! They look similar to your PW wagon but have a lot of detail differences like door handles, door height, builders plates, rivets, depth of bracing, running gear etc:

You're insincerity knows no bounds, @Noel. It's a good job that most forum members here are too polite to call you out on your duplicity, but don't worry, as I've said before, I'm your moral police, here to highlight all of your ill-fated passive aggressive attempts at flaming. The bottom line is, before you click on "Submit Reply", ask yourself this: Will DJ call me out for being shitty again, or will this one slip under the radar?

Very frustrating seeing FB-only links. Downloaded and re-uploaded here, original courtesy Leo George Devitt Photography on FB. What's that?
-
What's the van front centre in this photo? I like your platform surfaces, they look excellent, and the loco weathering in general is superb.

Did you guys ever look at adding a prototype "Age" sort option as well as the new vs. old model? Did the remaining Deltics ever clear in the Irish warehouse?
-
I'd say that once hese hit the shelves, the withering supplies of the old MM packs from Marks Models, eBay, and for sale here on the forum, will all dry up.

45's are rare enough in model form at the moment, so I guess it's better to have something rather than nothing, but still, that printing looks dog rough.

How dare they run an 071 without your prior consent?!!!

B142 back in service?

What will it take to get her certified for mainline use? -
Don't go too crazy buying 45's just yet, as you never know what 45's are around the corner...

Yeah, I noticed him reappear the last six months or so, but the prior hiatus was poorly timed. His website has been down for years, I only get onto FB once every couple of months, and he wasn't replying to emails while vanished, so I missed out on the opportunity to buy from him. Good to see his stuff on eBay these days, though. @Noel, what confused you about my post? It was pretty straightforward. Or was that just you with the passive aggressive flaming again?

Have to keep my eye on the C-Rail website for these! I see a nice photo of the Manchester Liners containers here (I'm assuming that it's an older ML livery in the photo?) :
-
What are the periods for each? Manchester Liners from the early eighties until when? When did the MSC brown boxes and ICL boxes first appear? Are MSC switching from beige boxes to brown boxes?

The price point is likely to be a sticking point for many on the JMD vans, but for me it was quality worth the sacrifice. IFM filled a niche, much like Silver Fox, and if a 30 Ton brakevan is specifically what you need, then IFM are the only show in town. However, if it's a brakevan you need, rather than a 30 Ton brakevan, it's a question of deciding on quality vs. price. You either pay for JMD quality or accept a lower grade IFM model at a lower cost. Comparing the two is like comparing a Silver Fox A Class and an IRM A Class, or a Lima 201 and a Murphy 201 - without the issue of the price point. It's a shame that IFM disappeared for five or ten years, stopped dealing with emails etc, as they were a great product at the time. Things have moved on since, and the chunky designs and incorrect chassis which would have been more than acceptable a decade ago no longer cut the cheese due to the quality of rolling stock available from IRM, MM, JMD etc. Again, it's quality vs. price at the end of the day.

Don't be shitty. IRM haven't yet released a brake van, and nobody says that they have. You want a highly detailed and prototypically accurate brake van, put your money where your mouth is and pick up a JMD van. No fuss, super communication, no waiting for invoices, no confusion, and it's a model rather than a toy.

Canarian Container Anorak
DJ Dangerous replied to DJ Dangerous's topic in Photos & Videos of the Prototype
One or two random anorak photos from last Tuesday, the 26th, around the port in Santa Cruz... ...Including one that shows why that Oxford Diecast Bus Eireann Transit is so necessary! Boluda reefers say Unit 45 on the back for some reason.
