Temporary problems with Accurascale shipping here, most likely due to that Royal Mail cyber mess a few months ago, so I was unable to make use of the offer. However, I couldn't resist buying one from Hatton's at full price in order to see it with my own eyes, and it just arrived a few minutes ago. Wow, what a wagon! The detail is out of this world. Not knocking OO Gauge models in any way, but O gauge offers a bigger canvas and Accurascale have made the most of it. Nice weight to the wagon, too. I don't know anything about O Gauge couplings but I assume that these couplings are a kind of industry standard. Stunning wagon, and the size, it just looks so massive alongside a OO wagon!

Might have even run a tiny bit later according to this post: It's not a claim, just a suggestion, but certainly possible.

Love it! Thank Crunchie it's Friday. Your lighting is fabulous. I'm only now noticing the embankment that's kind of hidden in most shots. Maybe an upside-down selfie stick would allow you film the layout from the opposite side? Never used one before myself so not sure if it would actually work.

Yeah, it's a bit far-fetched of me but both Cravens' and a Mk1 GSV are likely at some stage, so why the Hell not? If there were 750 packs produced, it would guarantee both manufacturers an additional sales boost due to the cross merchandising. -
Just for reference, @Weshty's Bandon tank and other locos can be ordered here: http://www.studio-scale-models.com/Locos.shtml The SSM email bounces everything back but he does attend to the other email address listed.

Nearly sure that it was mentioned here before that it was the late nineties or early two thousands before the whole fleet had transitioned from blue to red. I am open to correction on that.

Don't mess with the Navy. Unless you're a Polar Bear. Then you can mess with Navy.

Is it a Polar Bear in a blizzard?

Very recent-looking photo, relatively speaking. Early nineties?

Hey, that's how everything is inside my head! Not my fault if it escapes the odd time. Mods, give me thread-merge powers and I'll clean everything up in no time! -
So €85 each, plus postage, plus 23% of that combined value, plus a handling fee? Probably works out as cheap ordering six of IRM's new Park Royals instead. That's a shame, as the Cravens' are lovely coaches.
-
How dare you? Everybody needs Taras!
-
How does this work for Irish buyers when it comes to import tax and handling fees?
-
Great to see a few Irish coaches for sale!
-
That's the job! Enough grey and enough oxide so that the reds and blues are hard to tell apart! What are you planning???

I would speculate based on THIS THREAD (and this duplicate thread, and this one) that if Paddy Murphy goes ahead with producing more Cravens' coaches, the RPSI may do another run. Paddy has not promised more Cravens' coaches and the RPSI have not promised more Cravens' coaches, but both were at least considering them. How about a combined Murphy Models / IRM four pack with three MM Cravens' and an IRM Mk1 GSV??? -
Mmmmmh, Quality Street...

Just wonderful! Reminds me of this photo in an older Tara thread:

Perhaps @BosKonay would be so kind as to move the last few posts into THIS THREAD, as it seems to be covering the same ground. I guess there's a lot to cover in the debate, and the final calls will be made from a business perspective, with minimum compliance and cost, while maximising return, being the standard. Not disputing that a hundred year plan would be an advantage for future generations, but I just find it hard to imagine many people in business having that vision - or even caring, as they'll be long dead before their investment pays off. Also, much as I'd love to see the 071's re-engined to be the future, they can only be rebuilt etc so many times before they just get too old, as @Noel implied in the other thread. They may have one or two more lifetimes left, whether battery powered, hydrogen powered or OHLE powered.
-
The 071's are gonna look wierd with pantographs.
-
I'm no engineer, but I'd rather see batteries than complete electrification. I guess it's entirely possible that the two could merge into a hybrid system, locos charging while the pantographs are up and running on batteries while they're down.
