Dapol are running their O GAUGE SENTINEL SHUNTERS again. No Irish variant this time, just EIGHT UK VARIANTS, but maybe somebody knows of appropriate Irish decals for a debadged UK variant? As usual, slightly cheaper from Rails than directly from Dapol.

Heljan have ANNOUNCED A NEW RUN of their O Gauge Class 31 locos. Pricing from Rails of Sheffield looks pretty good at £425 STG a pop - cheaper than a Murphy Models 071 on eBay! No official images available so Rails have used images from the previous release.

Heljan have announced ANOTHER RUN of O Gauge Class 37's! Rails of Sheffield are taking pre-orders. There look to be eight variants available. Only two images have been released so far, six are awaiting images.

Finally, DAPOL are fulfilling our dreams and releasing O Gauge shipping containers! No more 1:48 required, we will finally have IRISH scene modern era 1:43 shipping containers. Rails of Sheffield are already accepting PRE-ORDERS, price yet to be confirmed. While no pricing is confirmed, current pricing for 1:48 O Gauge containers from Everest Model are approx €22 for a 40' container and €17 for a 20' container.

I'd agree with @Rob and @Mayner. Don't get bogged down with details like sticking no-smoking signs everywhere (ahem, @Rob ). Stick down some track, keep playing around with it and tweaking it until you're happy with the functionality, and then, when you know what you like, start worrying about scenery.

Great news on DAPOL'S O GAUGE CLASS 66! They and Dapol as a whole has expended a huge amount of time and resources to make this model as good as it possibly can be. We have got to the stage where we now have a second re-tooled and re-engineered prototype. there are a few minor issues left to sort out but on the whole we are very pleased with it. Unfortunately, we have recently had communication from the factory that we have chosen to partner us in this project that they require a significantly higher price per unit (40% higher) to complete the project. At this stage, after we have invested hundreds of thousands of pounds in the tooling and have bent over backwards to get the project back on track to say we are disappointed is a huge understatement. To all of us at Dapol, this type of behavior is unacceptable and we have made the painful decision to move the tooling to one of our other factories, whom have agreed to take on the project with some new timescales for completion. I'd posit that the three main reasons there are wars which require things to be blown up are: 1. Religion. 2. Scarcity of Resources. 3. Mental Ill-health. I'm sure there are other excuses / reasons, but those three cover the majority.

Ah, live-steam / steam-generator / live-steam-generator, all the same to me, specially from the perspective of running them indoors. Circling back, if you had a few hundred quid, instead of a W1, you could probably set up a nice T-Gauge layout with a classic HST: https://www.tgauge.com/product/109/br-hst-inter-city-125 Lots of other T Gauge stuff listed, but that'd be the one to capture my attention the most.

The price seemed a little high but I'm not up to speed on live-steam. My fear would be the condensation. Surely most people will be running them indoors, so whatever it burns for smoke, water based, oil based, whatever, is going to coat the track area?
