  1. And Claremorris station...platforms are capable of holding six Cravens/Mk2 coaches Again it's just a mock up for the time being.
  2. Afternoon gentlemen, I see its three years ago today since I started this thread about Tara junction, Time flies when your having fun... Thank you to all who have contributed to this thread.... I'm after moving house and getting married...!!! I'm delighted to say that herself granted planning permission for the NEW model railway room which is 14'x10' Work has been taken place over the last few weeks building baseboards etc and moving Tara jctn to its new home, As I've increased space it has really given me lots of options including a new lower level which I initially plan to have some storage yards and ultimately a small end to end branch line beneath the main layout-both levels will be connected, The upper level will have a variation of Claremorris station at one side-(with some minor alterations),a MPD at another side,a DMU and carriage depot opposite that and of course a small freight terminal, Like Tara jct.-I aim to be able to operate four trains at the one time while being able to shunt freight/passenger coaches in the various sidings, Having been bitten by the DCC bug-it will be operated by that system, As I said above its early days and of course I'll be posting updates as work progresses.
  3. Lovely job on the locos on the shed Rebelred, looks a busy MPD.
  4. I attended this Exhibition earlier today for the first time and was delighted I did, There were some fabulous layouts on show-Bleach green layout is breathtaking for its detail, I also loved the Lisburn and Belturbot layouts, Lots of trade stands and some bargains too Well done to everyone concerned, Well worth a visit. An 071 and some CPWs pass through"Lisburn".
  5. Looks great and the layout is looking well too Eamonn.
  6. I visited this exhibition earlier and can highly recommend it, A great selection of layouts on show and some excellent bargains to be had at the various trade stands-(thank you Seamus Graham) Layouts that done it for me were Rathmichael OO gauge,Joseph's bridge OO gauge,Heathfield and Llangollen N gauge. Nice to meet baseboard Dave, Murrayec and Brian Collins with his excellent range of road vehicles-looking forward to his future release of the Bus Eireann Expressway liveried SP111.
  7. Looking forward to this exhibition-always well organised, and easy to get around :tumbsup:best of luck to all concerned.
  8. When I seen it in Inchicore a few years ago it was gutted,I'll dig out the photos I took of her for you, I honestly thought she would never run again, I have very fond memories of her working Ballina branch trains 10 years or so ago-it was a regular performer on the branch set along with 079.
  9. Released to traffic last week after an absence of nearly four years out of service-and at one stage thought to be one of the first 071s that was about to be scrapped, Here we see a refurbished 0117087 coupled to the IWT liner in Ballina freight yard.
  10. Yes Railer-the real 080 has received the bodywork overhaul and is soon to enter the paint shop at Inchicore for the slate grey livery to be applied, Thanks Andy,Kieran and Eamonn
  11. Friday night freight on Tara junction sees from the right 7071 haul the DFDS CPW liner,7077 haul the IWT liner, 7078 the empty timber and 7080 operating light engine to collect the HOBS train, On the left in the distance at the MPD 7076 is getting fuel, oil and water-it will be sent out on a trial run in the morning and if all goes well I'll allocate it to the Sperry train for a few days.
  12. Absolutely stunning work, well done Richie...
  13. Nice one Andy-GVS is still looking great.
  14. Seamus-On the way down in Athy from 11:25-11:45,and on the return-again in Athy from 16:00-16:47-is probably the closest to you
  15. Seamus-those rails are clamped temporarily and are waiting to be welded together.
  16. A disaster for Waterford from a passenger operations point of view-unless access in the form of a crossover is provided from the former main platform to connect with the new arrival/departure road at the end of the new extended platform, but somehow I can't see that happening at this stage.
