  2. Wow. What a job ! Inspiring !
  3. wowsers. Count me in. Any idea when abouts ? Looks like I'll have to dip into the 121 savings fund again...
  4. Quick questionay ? When the IE plug socket logo came out , was there a while when IE and IR logo trains ran together or was the change quick ?
  5. I love this. The detail is super and the ballast is great. Lots of little details but also a great feeling of space.
  6. Some recent photos and a video of a mid 90s Bell Liner . https://youtu.be/vwGJZbbifEU'>https://youtu.be/vwGJZbbifEU https://youtu.be/vwGJZbbifEU

  8. thank you for the excellent description . mighty work done indeed. i am hoping to put in a service yard area .
  9. i love the concrete . i need an area like that . how is it done ?
  10. A video I put together of some running on the Kingscourt branch. A standard two carriage train for passengers is pure fiction , in my world passenger services clung on to serve a commuter population. https://youtu.be/qg8mwz9TC8Q
  11. hello there. the dcc concepts solenoid unit makes the electrics a lot easier. feeds straight off bus and the motors run through my NCE handset. less wires running all over the place. The woolie is grand. I will be getting the rpsi coach set as i plan to have her run as a made-up preserved loco alongside the more modern shtuff.
  12. precious little actual modelling in such a long time. I did acquire a dcc concepts unit for switching points. Also have wired up my distant signal to it. All control from handset. Great for play !!!!
  13. very very useful thank you ! i have a home and a distant. I think I will put them in for now until i find another spot for them, then i ll get some SSM ones
  14. thanks folks ! seems my purchase of a working distant is a wee bit overkill so... I hope to grab some SSM signals at some point when i am feeling nifty and nimble and confident to make em. At the mo I am even having bother with basic soldering for some reason!

A large number of UK shops and suppliers won't ship to ROI or Southern Ireland !!!! As they often call it . why I don't know.
  16. Hi friends, Beannachtaí na féile Padraig oraibh go léir! Quick question! I am sticking in a couple of signals. I am using the lower quadrant (GWR) type from dapol as I am told they resemble Irish signals. Were small level crossings (single line small road - eg Kinscourt branch) protected with both distant and home signals?
  17. So, not Irish, but a nice little cabin anyway. Passable to my eye to many an Irish cabin. £8.30 from Hattons. Could not resist.
  18. That is a superb model conversion. How come the Irish version had rivets visible but Lms ones didn't ?
  19. yes I have had great service from digitrains and wickness. Also have a look at these guys too, very good. http://www.coastaldcc.co.uk/products/nce/power-cab
  20. As always, thank you JHB. Gold Mine.
  21. signal cabin is a beaut. so well looked after. does anyone know if Kingscourt ever had a Cattle Dock ? ... been tempted now to add a little more interest
  22. thanks folks. one does try indeed. A few gypsum (ballast) wagons are going to look good trailing through there soon enough
  23. . I was in London last week and got a chance to pop into ian Allen's shop. Picked up a copy of this excellent book of trackwork.
  24. From a vantage point above on the road, some young fella captured a short cravens train led by 190, passing the crossing on the Kings court branch. https://youtu.be/p6Uj6rrppV0
