Remember the "Chippendales?". They were very popular. I was thinking of forming a similar outfit to help fund the purchase of future IRM releases. Anyone interested? What will we call our selves. It'll have to be railway themed of course....

The 1963 Peel P50 was the smallest car ever mass-produced. It featured three wheels and a single seat with a 49cc 4.2hp engine. It didn't have a reverse gear, but a handle at the back allowed it to be physically maneuvered as needed. So the wife comes home and says "I passed my driving test. I had no bother with the reversing part of it."

It would be a bit of a contrast parked beside a black and tan or a black liveried class mate.

If Irish Rail were to outshop an 071 class loco in "black and tan" livery it would give Murphy Models the perfect opportunity to release another 071 model. I always wondered what an 071 "black and tan" would look like. Actually I'd like one...

Anyone awaiting an order from IRM and it is taking longer than expected? Here's why....

We have been speculating as to whether IRM will follow their acclaimed "A" class model with it's smaller sibling the Metro Vick "C" class. Bearing in mind that IRM have been lauded for their attention to detail and the accuracy of the various derivitives of the "A" class model we assume that if they were to release models of the Metro Vick "C" class it would be to the same exacting standards. The "A" class loco weighed in at 82 tons whereas the "C" class weighed in at 61.5 tons, roughly two thirds the weight of the "A" class. Would the model of the "C" class weigh two thirds the weight of the "A" class models and more importantly will it be two thirds the price of the "A" class.....? Just trying to prepare my case to present to the Head of Household Finances should the "C" class arrive.

I can imagine the topics of conversation as we serve our sentence....

But there won't be a black and tan variant......

If it was a silver "A" with the Crossley engine as delivered, I'd say a tin of Dulux black undercoat would give that authentic look

And then there was 019 in the experimental livery which was a precursor to the livery on the GM 201's. Are we ever satisfied?

I think (it does happen occasionally) that the 201 Metro Vic BO-BO "C" class would be a natural successor to the IRM "A" class. When the wife says "But you have them" I'll say "No I don't. The other ones have six axles and these only have four axles". I am sure this would be of benefit to other members here......

I unpacked mine today. The wife promptly took the inside protective layers and put them under the sofa cushions as they had begun to sag, it worked now she is happy. Now I am wondering if it is cheaper to buy another "A "class and give the protective inner packing to the mrs or to to get the suite refurbished?

Anyone that says they are buying an EV to ensure a better future for their children would need to see the birth defects among the local children. Looking at it from the point of view as a parent it was sobering.

Undergoing some routine inspection in the works cradle before hitting the rails. The works cradle is based on original blueprints from Inchicore Works....

Pity they did not film loco being taken out of it's cardboard box. I wonder if it was as well packaged as the IRM "A" class loco?

I would like to thank WRENNEIRE for helping me out. I was particularly impressed with the way the green box was covered in an additional wrapping which bore the legend "From Randy Wrenn's Marital Aid Emporium" and below this "Powered by a very smooth quiet powerful motor". This helped me get it through the internal customs office. However I managed to undo all of WRENNEIRE's good work when I headed up to the attic with the "package" under my arm. "Where are you going?" asked the Mrs. "To try this out" I replied. I knew even before I saw the wife's face that it was the wrong thing to say. I am just not cut out for this John Le Carre subterfuge stuff. Don't know what the Mrs will think when my package from IRM arrives.....

Are there any other stockists of the A class other than IRM and Marks Models?

Now that the "A" class is here the obvious thing for IRM to do is to release the Anhydrous Ammonia tankers. I mean it is the logical step....

I know people are impatient for their A class to arrive, but it will arrive. Spare a thought for those who were eagerly awaiting Dapol's "N" gauge class 50. It finally arrived at Dapol from China but they sent the whole lot back to China as the finished product was not as it should be.
