Speaking of Gypsums I seem to recall the following hope

Just to point out to a junior member: Some products may have a US transformer voltage/plug but if that's not an issue then you're good. @Look-its-evanClick on Ironroad's logo and you can private message him for details (he may not want to put his email on a forum viewable by non-members) My one was for the US market but they're hardish to come by and while they're not true to prototype they're a very nice starting point for 1950s era

Minor differences such as the color of the hand wheel but that''s about it

An early B&I container at Limerick along with the funky CIE Bulk Cement trucks that I like the shape of. The latter are white to match the CIE ivory cement bubbles although I only seem to recall them in orange The Consent Leasing (CAI) was a lighter color, thanks for clarifying @MOGUL https://ukrailwaypics.smugmug.com/The-Humble-Box/TheHumbleBox-Operator/N/NEVU/i-CnhcN4w The first photo above at North wall also has 20ft containers from Harrison Line and CAST https://ukrailwaypics.smugmug.com/The-Humble-Box/TheHumbleBox-Operator/Container-operators-H/HARU-Harrison-Line/i-cgHMF4z/A

Interesting to see the hogsheads and kegs like new metal casks rather than cylindrical kegs. Lovely views of the old unfitted covered wagons. By 1960 Broadstone station and works had closed and although the loco depot seems a hove of activity the loco depot was in its last last year. Dieselisation was now well under way and steam singing its swan song. Lots of oil tankers behind the turf burner although that poor old open wagon has seen better days. Interesting photos. Thanks for posting!

Marry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all

Looks like it to me. Its not identical but we're looking at the offside. That sloping engine compartment must be fairly unusual

Ah, you didn't mention larceny as a second offense. No parole from the bedroom then. You might write to Hornby requesting a duplicate code. Useless unless the physical device has been purchased, right? might be helpful https://www.hornby.com/us-en/forum/elink-activation-code/?p=1

I was reading my excellent copy recently and only got partway through before being distracted by some useless activity (employment or some such impediment). Must get back to it. Agree, very nice book
-
Your e-grandson being a product of the modern world was merely trying to inform that the software can be downloaded online, and as long as the activation code on the CD sleeve has not been muddied beyond recognition you (and your locos) should be good to go

P and O Roll Off (Pandoro) might have been for road roro but must have been on rails somewhere I would have thought. Personally I love the P&O containers colour scheme. B&I liner with the original red on grey B&I livery form the O'Dea collection http://catalogue.nli.ie/Record/vtls000307819 The O Dea photos clearly shows the older B&I 'Arrow' logo not the from container that was carried the funnels of the British & Irish Steam Packet ships like MV Leinster

Sorry, I was probably being a bit lazy there but they're probably Evergreen running in the Bell liner, although I don't actually see that on the side like these. They may be an older style of container than this https://www.c-rail-intermodal.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=97&search=evergreen Then again, some green containers in Ireland belonged to others, CAI International in this case (NEVU), Galway, date unknown You do see some things not quite up to the company's standard livery like they second 20ft Bell cube on this and they didn't all have white roofs The 20ft B&I line containers from the 70s had very different styling & logo, not sure why they were alternated on the liner behind B131 And to get slightly off topic, there were even 10ft Uniload cubes, all of these being on 4w flat rather than the 42' Link to an old thread which has some useful info on containers/Bell etc.
-
@RobThere are some card kits out there and C-Rail intermodal has some undecorated 40ft cubes but I would check with @Arran on this forum to see what he has in mind to do next. They are not my era but are a nice looking container to be sure. There are also some curtain side trucks and tractor-trailer units in that livery that might fit nicely in the freight yard for a bit of interest

Obviously didn't understand the implications of the IRM/Accurascale setup with Brexit. What is happening post March and with the A class due about that time? But the center container lugs are not removable to allow a 40ft to sit on a 2x 20ft wagon? SO there were two sets of tooling for this portion of the 42ft chassis?

Ho Ho Ho it's the season to be jolly....

So just the one kidney left then? Tough choice! A class or 121s? Sure, dialysis will take care of the rest -
I think the IRM lads said they 'd all shipped. The arrive app is useful. You get a link by text , click on it and you can see the order contents and set push notifications iirc

I'd take a GSV or two but to be honest, I'm hoping that IRM will finally turn to coaching stock and will provide some of the CIE built coaching stock from the mid 1950s. The wooden coaching stock lasted for a very considerable period mixed with themselves, Park Royals, Cravens. It wasn't until after the Buttevant rail disaster that a moratorium was placed on these with the eventual introduction of the Mk3 stock in the late 1980s. Just providing the stock will improve interest in this era and they would be purchased in short and long rakes. It would be nice to have authentic coaching stock that would have been hauled by late steam and just about every IRM A class livery that is production right now (actually I might be needing some GSVs after all). Need to head off for a lottery ticket myself soon ... Still operating in 1986 although I'll admit that the brakes, catering and TPOs may have lasted longer than some of the coaches themselves

Same for US with these probably one of the last orders to be made and hence shipped. Incidentally why did they ship from the UK?
-
Don't worry, Arran. Old style is good . I have some of yours that I purchased previously and will order some more. The biggest problem now is getting things more in a 50s/60s style than in a post 80s setting. Wasn't as aware of the MOL but it does look nice so probably get some of how those too There wee 20 ft B&I in a much older style logo if I remember correctly. posted on another thread here IIRC. I will repost if I can find.

Now that's what I'm talking especially the single centrally loaded flat, and of course as has been said an empty flat rake in itself looks great One thing that C-rail don't do is a B&I container, so well done on that front!
-
Fran, my preference would be to see new flats with new numbers and different containers perhaps a 40ft CIE and 20ft Bells maybe one with a reefer. People who wanted more than one rake might appreciate the opportunity to swap/resell the original for the new ones which would suit both the seller and those that have missed out on the 'current' run. Different containers would allow greater variety for a more authentic rake. As Mayner points out the 20ft cubes were more prevalent on (say) the Cork liner with heavier more compact goods versus larger volume goods which needed 40ft boxes. For those modeling an earlier period 20ft cubes were also more prevalent than the larger boxes which became more common with time and as the freight traffic grew. Hope we can see some of the earlier 4w freight wagons that would take the 20ft cubes at some point. There are to be more ballasts in presumably the CIE era (versus the more modern previous run) to suit the CIE and IR ploughs? I rather hoped we might see more ballasts in the form of the dolomites or a derivative such as the magnesites. I don't need to but I' d probably sell on my ballast to someone who desired them more than I if that happened. My own particular interests; it would be nice to see a 'Project 20' with things that ran on the 10-14ft wheelbase for those modeling an earlier period and given the increased interest that seems to be expressed in Irish outline maybe even a limited run of more specialized wagons such as barytes, magnesite, dropside cements? Not looking for any production guarantees here , just some thoughts since your 'asked'

He's referring to the phraseology in my post above. No one was 'berated'. I was referring to his eBay handle andy13052004. If he happens to be Andy or happens to be a forum member or known to someone on the forum then sorry.
