  1. This is the nearest I have seen to what the large Swilly locos must have been like!
  2. Book now available to pre order from the Donegal Railway Heritage Centre. Book is 136 pages with ALL monies raised will.support our Museum in Donegal Town.
  3. Have a few photos of them in my new County Donegal Railway book which can be pre ordered now from the Donegal Railway Heritage Centre. This new book is sponsored so ALL monies raised support railway preservation in County Donegal.
  4. CDR Railcars 2 and 3w were Ford Railcars from the Derwent Valley Light Railway. Forbes loved a bargain like Phoenix

  6. Great to see yet more photos of Strabane could be my next book after the new CDR book I have out at the end of the month. Thanks Ernie for all your help with that project!
  7. Yes that was the plan to use ignite not coal for the new Kilroot Power Station. They even planned to reopen the line from Monkstown to Greenisland
  8. Was planning on doing the tour to go to for a rare run from Dublin behind 112. Will give it a miss now but do a few tours from Dublin later this summer.

  10. Have used the money saved for Dublin Hotels for two nights to book a holiday. Here 112 needs repairs and until then restricted to 40mph by Irisn Rail
  11. Glad I did not pay 600 Euros for 2 nights in Dublin as 112 is now replaced by two IE 071s instead due to issues with 112!

  17. The Hotel prices in Dublin that weekend are more expensive than going on holiday for a week. Also line closed that weekend from Drogheda to Dublin!

  19. The goods sidings at Castlefinn were to the left of the train in yet another CDR new photo. Thanks Ernie yet again.

  21. Been working on a book myself most of the day 2! Always use memory sticks as an insurance policy.
  22. Some scenes were filmed at Whitehead where the station nameboatds were both changed to Londonderry for the morning of filming. This caused some discussion amongst locals!
  23. Collected a copy of the new Baker book at the Severn Valley on Thursday. To say the least the selection of some poor photos and mistakes by the author makes it difficult to give a positive comment about the 60 years book.
