  1. The model on this thread looks far better than the MIR kit ever will.....
  2. Yup, best you can get, blows everything else away, locally produced or not.......

    A Class

    Pass me a bucket....
  4. I have, classic case of 'no matter how good you are, there is always someone even better'. A lot of patience for the lines under the chassis alone, never mind the rest
  5. Ive a Bachmann 66 chassis along with a spare Lima 59 chassis, so some spare time will prove useful
  6. Will always be a few projected designs, one of the BR class 60 design studies featured a French style Arzens raked back windscreen. The 59 design also has ribs in the bodysides to match wagons which Yeoman had when the locos were introduced but which didnt last long. The ribs stayed with the 59/1's and /2's and also gained by the 66 in all its variants....
  7. I remember that, was also a post office there too. Always remeber a layout there with a bit plastic dome/bubble on top with some of the Lima push buttons that made the trains run
  8. Where was it said about staying on topic? Your profession has gone to you head.........
  9. The shop closed around 1992 but the Leinster Models side of the business lasted a little longer
  10. Depends how fake you like your fakes
  11. Not given a great deal of time to build/dismantle layouts either end of the show. These things take time and cant be rushed
  12. Baile Cois Farraige aka Ballyrichmond Strand although its undergone a lot of work for Warley, new track, new scenery and new wiring
  13. Pass me a bucket - thats a BR Cravens 105 painted up, 33Limas one actually looks like an AEC set
  14. Colour (duh), different engine, load regulator setup. Look at the vid closely to see that a few side doors have been replaced too
  15. A lot of things different about the NIR locos, not just the horns either

    MK3 Scrapping

Just 6105 left now, 'supposedly' heading for preservation as the last coach ever built in Inchicore
  17. Look up there........in the sky...........a PIG!!
  18. I went, plenty of displays, but nothing for me really. Wexford the only model railways there in amongst the sea of farm dioramas
  19. Its the only way of getting the chassis...
  20. Id imagine given the price of hiring the venue, the organisers are taking a big financial gamble too. No offence intended to those living outside the capital, but it strikes me as an inflated version of the model farm shows seen around the country - ie 90% diecast models/dioramas. Fine, but you need to be more diverse to call it a hobby show. The MRSI were not contacted and I doubt the SDMRC were either. Granted Im a railway modeller, but I appreciate hobbys and crafts, but they need to look more outside the 'bubble' imo. The hall could easily fit any travelling layout that exists in the country. Will attend, but am curious to see if they can fill the hall at Punchestown completely, and what the mix of trade and exhibitors is like....
  21. Anyone planning on going to this? By the looks of things if your not into farm and truck dioramas you might be disappointed! Will also be interesting if the hall at Punchestown is totally filled
  22. Screw both and get Exactoscale track and Marcway points.....
