Popular Post Patrick Davey Posted August 17, 2022 Popular Post Share Posted August 17, 2022 Today I had the great pleasure of viewing the stunning new Donaghadee layout in OO gauge by Gordon Hunt - it is currently on display in the town and is very much worth a visit by anyone within reach! So good to see another BCDR layout, and finished to such a high standard! And a special word of thanks to Gordon for his very warm welcome! jhb171achill Posted August 17, 2022 Share Posted August 17, 2022 I love the fact that the station there was acually a much older "re-purposed" house - not a common thing on railways anywhere, not just in Ireland. The detail is magnificent! It is great to see another real location modelled and especially another real location in Norn Ireland. There are so many areas of interest and such attention to detail. Although about 4, that assault on the senses of fire and steam and hot oil remained a firm impression. The UTA period is much neglected among modellers, despite having much interesting potential content. This has it in bucketloads, complete with GNR section excursion onto BCDR metals. To be fair, they are probably the same as building any lattice post signal, e.g., LSWR, CR, LNER, etc., so go carefully with the soldering iron and use the minimum amount of solder that you can get away with.
