DJ Dangerous Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 So, this topic deserves it's own thread. There are a few posts on these here: 23 hours ago, MOGUL said: Forgot to ask Paddy about 071s, but he does have a new announcement for us all.. Hopefully someone will share it on here soon 23 hours ago, Grange Castle said: And some announcement it is too ! Right up my street, had a great chat with Paddy about it. Photo doesn't do it justice at all. 22 hours ago, mphoey said: wow very intersting choice 16 hours ago, DiveController said: what is this? the present day DART? 16 hours ago, mphoey said: yep the new alstom hybrid 16 hours ago, BosKonay said: Correct, not yet running as yet. 16 hours ago, DiveController said: Ah, I see. Haven't seen this in the flesh as an ex-pat. Are there many of these in service? When did they enter service? Presuabnly as a hybrid the use the DART electrified network and can run south of it also? 16 hours ago, mphoey said: only 1 set here for evaluation wont see service for a while yet but will be operating first on the dundalk drogheda line till electrification is done 15 hours ago, Georgeconna said: yep, one for the Dubs I think. Very limited scope modelling wise outside that area obviously. Wish him the best with it. 14 hours ago, murphaph said: That's.....brave. 14 hours ago, Georgeconna said: Especially with the ICR units not selling as the lads had hoped for. I would of thought a Push Pull set would of been warmly welcomed and would go great with the 121's. 11 hours ago, chris said: Seems a bit of an odd choice versus the original DART for example. (I know there is a bespoke manufacturer of these though) Hope it goes well for him but not one for me this time. Edit: could really do with updating the website about it and a launch like IRM do... difficult to actually find out anything about it if you weren't at the show. Plus I saw this on FaceBook last night: 12
DoctorPan Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Speaking to Paddy, these aren't a solo project, Alstrom have asked him and provided CAD and the sort to help him produce this, hence why a 3D sample model of a full set appeared before real thing! 9 2 4
K801 Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 looking forward to seeing this BUT hoping IRM will do a 8101/8301 someday... 3 2

Be nice to have one of these to run with IRM's 22000's. 3
Weshty Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 That's a class looking model. Will definitely be on the shopping list. Well done Paddy. 3 2
LNERW1 Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 A little odd maybe to have this before any other DARTs are available RTR- not counting @murrayec as he is still overwhelmed with back orders AFAIK- but as it’s in conjunction with Alstom I have no doubt it’ll all work out. Don’t know why, but surely a big “proper train” manufacturer knows what it’s doing. I’ll probably be able to afford one by the time it comes out, completely out of era and period for me but oh well. 2
Branchline121 Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Here’s the link to the picture of the real thing out ‘n’ about if anyone hasn’t seen it yet. 1
DJ Dangerous Posted June 30 Author Posted June 30 Murphy Models DART + now in tooling, according to this post from @Der Rechtsanwalt: 5 minutes ago, Der Rechtsanwalt said: It is understood that the Murphys Models Alstom X'Trapolis DART + is now in tooling. The Murphys Models MK111 coaches will enter tooling in the next few weeks. With respect to pricing, delivery or running numbers there is no further information at present.
DJ Dangerous Posted Saturday at 14:04 Author Posted Saturday at 14:04 And a bump for this thread, as the DART+ was already in tooling a few months back.
Westcorkrailway Posted Sunday at 23:53 Posted Sunday at 23:53 I wonder will the model be out before the real equivalent ! IMG_3813.mov 4 2
DJ Dangerous Posted Monday at 19:16 Author Posted Monday at 19:16 They look exceedingly good, @Westcorkrailway! Specially that Dark Knight livery! Any inkling on pricing, timeframe or variants being produced? Who will be stocking them?
Niles Posted Monday at 21:26 Posted Monday at 21:26 Looking at this yesterday, it falls into what I term my 'absolutely no justification for, but want' category (didn't stop me ordering an 800 though). 1

Louth Posted Monday at 21:46 Posted Monday at 21:46 Probably before the real ones are in passenger service! 1 1

Spoke with the main man ,he told me they expect them to be available towards the middle of next year-no word on price-that will be confirmed early next year, Usual stockists will have them, They will be in service on layouts before the real BEMUs enter revenue earning service -a first for Irish railway modelling Mk3 coaches after that-then 071s…..but IRM will probably take those….. 6 3
DJ Dangerous Posted yesterday at 00:19 Author Posted yesterday at 00:19 Excellent news. So, it’s fair to say we’ll likely see both DART+ and 22000 sets on layouts in 2027. 3
Westcorkrailway Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago How mad is that. You could have a model layout set in the future! 1 2
