Really like this shot looking towards the station building. It's rare to see it viewed from this angle. Brilliant stuff, as always.

That's putting me in the mind to go and see U2 or the Blades in McGonagles or the Baggot Inn tonight.......... a pint's gone up to 60p, though. Need to check if I can afford that plus the bus fare.

Bank holiday Saturday we see various operations on Tara junction.
See below for details;

127+133 operating a Dublin Heuston-Tralee relief Cravens set passes through the station.

A busy scene with Mk2,Cravens,Park royals and the TPOs,

048 has arrived at the station with the mail train and after the mailbags were unloaded ,the train was shunted over and combined with the Park Royal set.

Lakeview freight yard sees the arrival of 124+134 hauling the bogie bulk cement train and after it was shunted 190+187 arrived with the Guinness liner-the driver of LV2 forklift prepares to lift off a laden pallet of the black stuff

Finally a Cravens coach is seen with passengers on board at the platform

As always, I love the detail. The guy hosing down the cement truck is a little cameo. I'm presuming the guy in the yellow jacket in the coach in the last picture is en route to Cork or Killarney to collect a few Railtours passengers to be escorted back to Dublin? There's a great lot of Guinness en route to our favourite pubs too......

Great to see the prototype ballast hopper and the subject of the IRM model 24256 being saved for preservation at Maam cross, looking forward to playing with the real wagon in the near future….

Its miniature form is working away on ballasting duties on Tara junction.

Saturday morning at the MPD on Tara junction.
A chance purchase of 079 has added to the fleet of six grey liveried 071s on the layout.

We see 079 on the wheel lathe getting its wheels turned,

166 is seen here lifted clear of its bogies as it undergoes an overhaul.
204 receives attention to its power unit as various locomotives come and go for exams and fuel, oil and water.

079 is mint!

Is she a Tony Mirolo re-spray?

No DJ,

A gentleman was selling his collection of model railways so 079 was an original grey MM which I purchased, and with the addition of my own supply transfers from Railtec, it became 079…I also added the green coupling and various brake pipe detailing. 👍
