Warbonnet Posted March 8, 2021 Posted March 8, 2021 SWIFT THINKING - City Swift Double Deckers In Stock Now! Following the speedy sell-out success of our Railink Dublin Bus double decker buses, we have gone back to our friends at Britbus and commissioned a new run of Dublin Bus double deckers. This time we have gone for a more mainstream model in the wonderfully attractive and iconic ‘City Swift’ livery of the 1990s on the Leyland Olympian chassis, based on demands for more mainstream liveries to populate layouts. Two routes are available, 13A and 51B and this is the first time the Leyland variant has been offered in City Swift livery on the Britbus model. Both models are strictly limited to just 252 pieces each. Considering the premium previous models in this livery go for they are certain to be highly collectable! These are only available via IRM and are in stock now priced at €59.95/£51.50, so don't miss out. Check them out here as well out other stock of Oxford Diecast 1:76/OO models which are ideal for your Irish layout: https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/vehicles Read more here: https://irishrailwaymodels.com/blogs/announcements/swift-thinking-britbus-dublin-deckers-now-in-stock Cheers, Fran 4 Quote

Noel Posted March 10, 2021 Posted March 10, 2021 City Swift a bit modern for my layout, but while browsing IRM's shop I discovered some nice nostalgic older vehicles in their range which I ordered (1960s). All of which could have parked outside Kingsbridge or driven through Gort. Now a ford consul, or Zephyr or Zodiac along with the morris minors would look great parked on the main street. Now all I need to complete my era is a working set of black and white traffic lights for Gort main street. Opened by the Bishop of Galway himself in 1967. https://irishrailwaymodels.com/products/morris-1000-van-sandy-beige?variant=37942487056537 https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/vehicles/products/saro-bus-county-donegal-railways https://irishrailwaymodels.com/products/vw-t1-van-light-grey?variant=37942488301721 1 1 Quote

DJ Dangerous Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 The Leyland RH's would have run in this livery from 1995 until 2000, more or less? Was it the single-deck City Swifts that started in 1993? And then the blue and cream livery was born in 1999? Might be an idea to merge this thread with the other one on the same topic: 1 Quote

Might be an idea to merge this thread with the other one on the same topic: Cityswift RHs continued into the early/mid 2000s but by that time they were gaining grey bumpers. RH70 went into the core cream and blue livery around 2001 I think, but RH126 lasted a bit longer than that. First Cityswift route was the 39 with P Class Plaxton/DAF single deckers in 1993. Blue and cream was 1998 I believe, but open to correction on that. Yellow debuted in 2004. While I'm here, RH126 on the 13A is very nearly sold out and RH70 on the 51B is not far behind! 1 Quote
DJ Dangerous Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 Excellent, so they lasted a long time as they are. The cream and blue didn't last very long... Should have stuck with two-tone green! 1 Quote

flange lubricator Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 (edited) How about a CIE GUY tractor unit or AEC Mandator in black or orange with bulk cement trailer which would go very nicely along side the Bulk Cement Wagons ? Edited May 4, 2021 by flange lubricator 3 Quote

Hi Noel, Do you mean Leyland or AEC rear platform buses? The only Dennis badged bus I can recall was a small fleet of Trident low floor buses from 2003. It is something we could look into in time, perhaps in 2022. Cheers! Fran 3 Quote
