Folks

Enjoy the green day today whether you are modelling or not today.

With the vaccinations 💉 on the horizon ( how efficient they are , is another day’s work) once we can get out to the model railway club houses , modelling friends, swopmeets and more importantly the ability to travel to the exhibitions in the near future.

Hear, Hear. God's blessing on you all today, of all days.

My neighbour (Brendan) has his big Tricolour out on display in garden.

Did you know that Reading is twinned with CLONMEL?

If I had time to find it - I'd post a pic of NCC No.62 Slemish where the Saint did indeed "Mind my sheep".

I refurbished a village flagpole for a Parish Council on the Big Island a while ago.

When I had reassembled it, it didn't have access to their flag, so I had to use what I had to hand.

I run my own National Holidays in my house - this being the only one that anybody else seems to join in with.

Tonight, it may be a bottle of Nigerian Guinness, in honour of one of the two other countries that St Patrick keeps an eye on.

Montserrat being the other, of course.

Happy st patricks day everyone! The day where being irish is worth celbrating! But of course some memorable days down the years have taken place down through the years like the IRRS excursion trains. Of course 60 years since the IRRS excursion to my own West Cork

Well done Galteemore - the loco is available as a Hornby "Star" Class, of course -

Hornby R3455 GWR 4-6-0 'Knight Of St Patrick' 4013 4000 Star Class

However, SIXTY years ago exactly this Blessed Day (something for everyone - steam and diesel).

That's a terrible-,looking pitch.

The slope is bad enough, but the surface is dog rough and the grass is half-dead.

Shocking.

Shocking pitch indeed, but it's great for working on the leg muscles.

None of that namby pamby level stuff down here.

Still...

😆

Small price to pay for...

Disaster almost struck the supermarket ran out of Guinness but still had a 6 pack of Kilkenny (export version of Smithwicks), getting autumnal here as Ireland heads in to spring.

Following on from Leslies photo of the 1961 Patrick's Day West Cork Tour, almost two years earlier the C&L closed on the 31st March 59 with a final double headed train with all (4) available coaches and 2 passenger brakes on the 'main line" with the ex-T&D engines doing most of the work with 1 C&L engine on standby.

My slightly different interpretation with a escort of enthusiasts' cars on the tramway

Speaking of narrow guage and West Cork, Check out Schull by Mark Dunlea. Unbelivable layout and as he has access to a 3d printer (he creates shells for number 90) he was able to print one of the S&SLR tanks FB_IMG_1616023698969.jpg.487278448f4d78f3c8db00470c42359b.jpgFB_IMG_1616023692957.jpg.c7856008f9725683cb62a498056cfe8a.jpgFB_IMG_1616023703192.jpg.38335b1bff5894aeb76f2e61e596f497.jpgFB_IMG_1616023711076.jpg.25b36391a2d80da137014875d928ecb8.jpg
