Cheers, Came back out today and started her up and bingo the LED is shining brightly so nothing to do right now. I wonder is the Vibration of the sound no helping poorly soldered joints, It does Vibrate a fair ol bit, I will turn the Vol down a wee bit. Could be either the Socket or the LED soldering. 2 points. If happens again I check it out further but I will leave alone for now. Cheers for the input!

hi Lads, Anyone have this problem, about 20hrs running on the clock, Left hand LED is working as you can see it flickers when I change the lighting but does not stay on. Possible dry joint? Looks Like a will have to take apart this yoke at some stage to investigate, bit of a dissapointment tbh given little use it has had. 20221231_230710121.mp4

I use Cobalt Digitals, Slow, First Batch I had was Duff, Manufacturing fault but they took them all back, (14 of them) and replaced the whole lot and no problems since. I can control these from the DCC handset and are easy to program and have inbuilt frog switching also which is great. I use them for the Fiddle yard too. 12 Cobalts are now 360 notes. Big Swallow for sure!

I agree some nice techniques there, Painstaking slow but worthwhile. I wonder will be Sticky paper onto the plasticard come back to haunt him. The Stanley blade jig was sublime! -

Those boats needed a large weight as a keel in order to float properly. We have some back in the day, Great in the bath! -
Tough enough keeping up with the OO Stuff so despite a lovely scale and hopefully impressive models it wont be for me.

If you said this was O or Gauge 1 I would of said yep looks the biz but this is OO. the Finish, Specs on this are something special al together.

why do things like the above loco in your mind look great but when you see a picture of the model it looks awful!! must of been some imagination in operation, I had a black loco and 2 coaches with the blue track. Magnetic couplings too ala Hunt. -
You must be well delighted at those results!

Ah Eileens is gone....Bad news for sure. Only Shopped with them in Telford last month. Damn. Having said that I virtually spend zero on the UK models shops these days where before an order for a few bits and bobs here and there would not draw and extra 3.50 service fee from anpost.

Fairy Gannet Trumpetor AS.1 1/72

'Winkle' Brown no doubt had a input into the Aeroplanes flown post war by the Germans The Incredible ‘Winkle’ Brown (historynet.com) In 1958 Brown was detached to Germany to help set up the German naval air arm at Kiel and Schleswig, starting with Sea Hawks and Fairey Gannets. Promoted to captain in December 1960, he was appointed air deputy director of the Gunnery Division at the Admiralty, becoming heavily involved in the battle to acquire the Phantom II for the Royal Navy. Then it was back to Germany as naval attaché in Bonn. I have an AEW version on the go too. -
Hi all, My Dad picked this one up at the IPMS show in Dublin this year but was unable to make it so was handed over to muggins to make. As Humbrol has disappeared from Marks and Revell Stock Well depleted I resorted to AK 3rd Gen Acrylics. A big step after 40 years of Enamels. Testing using the bottom feed airbrush was a disaster with clogging and splutter. Remembering I purchased a Top Feed Badger Infinity just before I moved from Marks Models so dragged that out and hey presto result. The AK stuff was sprayed using no primer and masked over with no issues however the paint is easily scratched off the plastic so the next Gannet will have primer on it so hopefully will be a bit more tougher! Once done an oil pin wash was done and wiped away highlighting the lines. Overall happy with the result.
