  1. Thanks man, I have done some reading on it and have a kit or two ready to go. I guess I'm just one of those muppets who needs to see someone do it before it all sinks in! Looking at the stuff George is posting on his workbench with serious envy! The end result always looks worth the effort, and the brass finish with a nice paint job looks a million dollars.
  2. An original A or C class one would be very nice, not to mention one for a Sulzer.... (should any of the aforementioned exist, which I'm sure they must do in some form?)
  3. That's pretty reasonable in fairness. Cheers Eoin. Now all I need is somewhere to put all this and to work as well as some nice citizen to show me how to solder brass kits together properly and I'll be laughing!
  4. They're damn expensive mind you. What about the forthcoming SSM kit? Would that be suitable?
  5. Ebay is a magical place Seamus!
  6. Cheers for the info guys. Did you pay much in postage Eoin? Would imagine it would be heavy enough?
  7. Superb stuff as always David. How much is the rivet press?
  8. Interesting Kirley, especially the concept of the Scottish Modellers group. I suppose similar work is going on here, just in a slightly different way!

Great photos Gordon, thanks for sharing. Great to see these insider photos. Sad all the same.
  10. Railway Roundabout...
  11. I was hoping for Marklin myself.
  12. Aha, you learn something new every day.
  13. Now that is stunning!
  14. Not rate their 71 Ed? I admit the moulded side window is a bit of a pisser (same on the Sulzer btw that I saw in the flesh yesterday) but I'm going to drill that out and use some Terry Chocolate orange box magic. Looks passable to me, although there's a good bit of detail lacking in the bogie dept I will admit. Looks like a 71 to me at least.
  15. The do Rich, have a 71 waiting to be made and it really looks well. A bit different when it comes to the Irish side of things locowise.

  17. Good Job!
  18. Spectrum is their premium (though not always premium in reality) HO range, this and their tamper are American models in HO sold as OO in their British range.
  19. I think the SSM would be a better starting point. Both would need a hell of a lot of work though! Q kits still reigns supreme I guess!
  20. Glad you enjoyed it lads, popped up on my youtube recommends so thought it would be of interest. I'm sure there are plenty of other gems out there waiting to go online. I love the old British Transport Films myself that are appearing more and more on youtube these days. Did CIE ever make anything similar?

  22. Is this not the new observation car for the VSOE deal?
  23. Thx
