  1. I'd also spray the area white and then mask off the line and go orange over it. Always go from light to dark colours...
  2. Murphys don't seem to want to do a model which has been released RTR by another provider. Silver Fox did a tarted up BR craven unit in Irish liveries. One to the standards of Murphy stock would be fantastic. Then again he'd probably have to do a C class to go with it...
  3. A good scale model of the AECs would be superb. A lot of possibilities with hauled stock as well as motorised, liveries, possible GNR version too.... Pretty essential rolling stock for the period.
  4. Well after much resisiting I succumbed to picking one of these locos up. Sound, shipped to Ireland and taxes paid it worked out slightly less than a 201. It was too good a deal to turn down and a chance to see how MTH stacks up. Looking forward to giving her a run and see how she sounds
  5. I love it as much as the next man Shem, but not a hope she'd be done RTR.
  6. People are still buying them though. I'd kill for a top quality A Class and they're just about my favourite Irish loco along with the 071s but there was no way I was touching the Silverfox one. I'm sure a good one will eventually come.
  7. Not to mention potential price. If someone is costing it by the hour the prices can soon rise to a price few would be prepared to pay.
  8. She's nice and subtle, not overcooked and over done. Good job Nelson!
  9. The second picture is an older version, pre NEM standards. They've been making these for a long time. Nice find btw, wish my local charity shops carried such interesting treasures. Must alert the mother to keep an eye out for interesting stuff in the one she volunteers in...
  10. It is, but when you see Bachmann and Hornby trying not to duplicate each other [although it does happen on occasion] for a much larger British market and then Paddy Murphy avoiding subjects like the A Class because Silver Fox already do one you'd wonder how a small market like Irish outline RTR can sustain two separate entities doing the same wagon. After all, when a second company does the same subject as the first the market is cut in half, and if the first company has flooded the market then there is little hope of the second company selling out any time soon. The best way we all benefit is if the second company does something not already available. Of course this is also assuming that the product of the first company is up to standard. I'd rather someone would do the humble open wagon, the box vans and stuff like twenty foot flats, fertiliser wagons, Tara Mines wagons etc rather than another bubble. But then that's just me.
  11. Ah jaysus you must've had a few on you when you put this up in the wrong part of the site! Duly moved
  12. I'd rather people willing to make stuff go for different subjects rather than duplication...
  13. I forgot about state pensions...
  14. If you guys aren't into a bit of DIY you can always send them to Laois, Cork or Newry to let the kit experts do them for you. I can't see a RTR version of Irish wagons any time soon unless one of us has a big lotto win.
  15. Nice one, looking forward to seeing it progress!
  16. Surely if you're not into any of that then you wouldn't be called a 'modeller'?
  17. Well, only a matter of time before someone double headed
  18. Can confirm that they're just painted.
  19. Slightly, she looks worst of all in the Black and Tan, the one livery I would want one of these in. I think I'll be ordering from Des if I ever decided that I want one of these.
  20. Great pics yourself. I really hope so, the current scene is as dull as ditchwater without these workings from an enthusiasts point of view. Let's hope we see more freight flows soon!
  21. You should see wrenneire's house....
  22. There's always a way around these things!
