  1. I grew up in the 70's watching the trains at the grannies in Harmonstown. Spent many a Tuesday on the bridge near St. Paul's watching 201s on pp sets and 141s on suburban sets with a 4 or 6 wheel van with the occasional DH on the Enterprise. I still remember my shock when 106 ran past light southbound. Back there this weekend for the show. Happy memories.
  2. Excellent news. I'll be there on Saturday but will try to get back on Monday to stock up. Well done that man!
  3. Is this grey or silver. I hope the unpainted aluminium of the 50's is not back. It looked very grimy very quickly.
  4. Imagine a line of them beside the breakfast bar in the kitchen!

    MRSI Exhibition

Hi Wrenn I'll be there on Saturday and possibly Monday too. I'll make myself known!
  6. Agreed Wrenn. I'm one of those boys that appears now and then (funds permitting) but disappears for a while. Still can't believe that we have such a choice of Irish prototypes. Long may it continue. See ya in Raheny on the bank holiday weekend.
  7. Great finds. I'll look out for some while surfing.
  8. Hi David Just spotted the layout in New Irish Lines. Very well done.
  9. Van Hools would not have been used on the 10 in that period. It was a Phibsboro route and the only buses based there at the time were the older CIE Atlanteans. These were eventually partly replaced by the Bombardier KD Class from the mid 80's.
  10. Snap, I picked one up too. Also got an RA from Jim Poots. Happy few hours ahead getting it completed. A great show all round. Lucan South and the North Down engine shed layouts were stars for me.

    Cie truck

That looks like the north end of O'Connell Bridge with the truck heading west towards Heuston.

    MK3 Scrapping

The Mk 3's were still in Dundalk 2 weeks ago. I'll be up that way on Friday so will update then.
  13. I'll be heading down on Saturday to see what it's all about. Hope to see some of you there.

    077 let loose

A Class sounds right to me. Sure weren't there at least 6 different B Class diesels.
  15. How about Crew on the Castlederg and Victoria Bridge line.
  16. This little corner of the Internet is the most appreciated and best corner. Long may it reign.
  17. Same for me. I don't have anything worth showing but I check in here a couple of times each day. It's great to keep track of what's going on. And with an interest in aviation for example the current changes keep me interested. There are many different opinions out there and I would never be one to say that someone else's ideas or opinions are less worthwhile than anyone else's.
  18. My early years were spent watching the trains go by at Harmonstown in the 70's so that's when my layout is set. If only I could get decent versions of 201's and PR push pull sets. But if its Irish and 70/80 ish that'll do.
  19. Was there a 2 ft line at Ardnacrusha as well as the more widely known 3ft lines?
  20. Yup true, the request from ATC for a third pass from the A380 was priceless. Almost a Go on go on go on moment. How much would that cost in extra fuel? Fair play to the BA captain to agree.
  21. Oh yeah. Lots of us about. It was a great day. The Sabre and the Flying Fortress stole the show. A380 and Catalina were spectacular too. A day to remember.
  22. Yup that's my plan. If it rains all day at least the day is not completely lost.
  23. That's still a good lineup but I ll be sad not to see the Vulcan.
  24. I'd concur with the wasp stripe headboards on the weed spray trains
