I actually worked that particular train from Castlerea to Ballina on that date, From my notes in my Guards journel, the Cravens coach is 1558 and it was to replace 1505 which had developed an electrical fault while working the Ballina branch train, Sorry for going off topic admins.

The RPSI were busy this afternoon at Tara junction, Steam loco 4 needed to be turned on the turntable so the society used loco 175 to shunt the engine, Under the watchful eyes of their operations manager and Locomotive officer No4 was eased slowly onto the table and successfully turned.

A quiet Sunday afternoon at the running shed at Tara junction afforded the opportunity to display the liveries that have been applied to the 071 class locomotives of CIE/IR/and IE over the past 40 years. From the left-083 in Black and silver,0117080 in the current grey livery,073 in the soon to be released retro IR livery and 071 in original CIE livery.

Wexford Model Railway Club Easter Exhibition 2017
ttc0169 replied to Irishrailwayman's topic in What's On?
It certainly was worth the 402 mile round trip yesterday to this excellent exhibition, Well done to the Lads at the Wexford club for organizing it, It was great to meet some old friends and also some new ones, I managed to pick up some IE Cravens coaches for 30 euro each, from the local Wexford club stand there, which was less than what some of the trade stands were looking for, Well worth a visit if you can make the trip. -
Raymond, I'm delighted to see that you converted to DCC you won't regret it, It will really suit your fantastic layout, I am five years into DCC and certainly wouldn't go back now. Best of luck with it.
