    IRM Fert Wagon

I've probably said it before but the bar just seems to get pushed that little higher with each release. The detail on this is just stunning. The Fert was always one of my favourite wagons but I never thought id see the day when such a high quality RTR model would be available to buy. Really looking forward to these. Top class lads and credit as always to all involved
  2. Agree totally, but they insist on being sucked in as each tournament comes around and never seem to learn. It was strangely quiet building up to this world cup, then with a few of the favourites tipped to win it noticeably struggling in the group stages the hype machine kicked into gear as it always does, same story, same result....
  3. Always amazes me when the inevitable finally happens how the english media change their tune. 2 weeks ago Sky Sports were more or less saying they were world beaters and had this sewn up, and this was still at the group stages. Within an hour of them going out last night they were a young side that had overachieved and nobody had expected them to get this far. Always gives me a good laugh, roll on the euros
  4. Outstanding Eoin, your work never ceases to amaze me.
  5. Not sure of the exact circumstances as to how it came about but it was short lived. At the time I think they felt it was cheaper to ship it from Arklow rather the Dublin Port. The wagons basically looked like a 20 ft open top container which was covered with a tarpaulin.
  6. Love all things cement Noel, especially the bogies. Great scenes as always
  7. Are you referring to the 4 wheel ore wagons that ran to Arklow in the early 90's Dive?

    IRM Fert Wagon

Mouthwatering detail. Was it generally 10 in a typical rake? Any footage I've seen from the early to mid 90s suggests so.
  10. Lads, that looks that good I'd nearly take it as it is The final product will be stunning. I can't wait to get my hands on a pack of these.
  11. Love the stairwell and lift encased in glass. Looks just like the real thing. Modelling on another level.
  12. Seems to operate quite smoothly Noel without any issues
  13. The lads will have to up their game to get anyway near that type of standard Dave
  14. It certainly was an added bonus to get both locos on the tour back in April Railer. I too was delighted to get a few shots of both looking a little worse for wear, especially 086 sporting it's black and orange cab door and 074 with its IE logo missing, but as you said both sounding great.
  15. I thought your fleet of locos was impressive Noel ! You must have twice the amount of buses if not more
  16. Lovely work Eamonn. Always look forward to seeing something on your workbench.
  17. Oh lads, they are just the dogs dangly bits. That bar seems to get pushed that little bit higher with each release.
  18. They turned out great Eoin. As you said tedious work, but certainly worth the effort when you see them finished.
  19. Enjoyed that Noel, nicely done
  20. Progressing nicely, really like the rust on the rails it looks great.
  21. Any photos to accompany the progress?
  22. Lovely work Noel, looking forward to seeing it finished with glazing and handrails attached.
  23. Thanks guys
  24. When I first built these cement wagons about 3 years ago I made one of the worst mistakes you probably can when modelling and rushed them, resulting in a lot of wobbling and sometimes derailing when running. Obviously the badly built chassis' were behind the running issues so about two months back I decided to start on a new batch and sort the problem once and for all. While I was working away on the building the new chassis' I took the chance to tidy up parts of the weathering and paintwork on the bodies which was another thing I hadn't been happy with, and I've also added some extra detail to both ends of each wagon by using plasticard and SSM break wheels and wire. None of this is by any means 100% accurate but I think it represents the framework and hand wheels from the prototype quite well and certainly adds to the appearance of the model. The chassis' still need some weathering applied to blend top with bottom but that's a job for another day, main thing is their now running smoothly.
  25. Now that you mention it JB, they do look slightly the wrong shade Lovely work Noel. Very precise lining as always.
