  1. 741 and 748 were withdrawn due to fire and bomb damage, but were built by BREL in 1974. That being the case, presumably 1974/5 would be the earliest that the DTSOs would have come into service with NIR after 5-6 years in service with BR Ref Irish Railways Traction & Travel, Peter Jones, 1st Ed. 1987 111 and 112 went to traffic in Feb 1981, 113 in 1984
  2. Excellent point, Patrick! Hadn't thought of that
  3. A CGI, you could inspect the scenery too, JB hehehe
  4. ... and if not I'm sure there are some SDMRC members on the site who will note the comments made, in addition to the many compliments that have also been made by site members.
  5. Very impressive, TDR. Really liked that second video:tumbsup:
  6. A Correct Green Inspector;)
  7. 752 was a 66 ft 75-seat Driving Trailer Open Standard built originally by BREL (Litchurch Lane Works, Derby) in 1969/70 as Mk2c on B4 bogies and originally BR TSO 5516 753 was a 66 ft 62-seat Driving Trailer Open Standard built originally by BREL in 1969/1970 as Mk2c (BR TSO 5498)
  8. If I understand your question, 812 and 813 were 66 ft 31-seat Driving Brake Open Standards built originally by BREL in 1969 as Mk2Bs and converted to air-braked push-pull fitted by NIR but I am not sure when the conversion occurred …. which may have been your actual enquiry. Not sure if that helps
  9. I don't think you're wrong, JB, but I wonder if it's a lack of historical information or an expert like yourself to advise, or possibly failure to realize that green (and orange) has 40 shades. Black and white photos/sepia photos probably don't help and the earlier printing and photographic process may help to muddy the waters further..... just some thoughts
  10. Hooray!, It's the A class then:tumbsup:...... I think the point would be that if something like a loco was done, it would not want to have (m)any variations on the body design (and a not too intricate design) so no new moulds would be needed only livery changes to recoup the cost with least expense
  11. Congratulations, John!
  12. Hmm, Noel beat me to it but I had 'dreamed' that after the fertilizer wagons (which follow the bubble) that sufficient surplus have been put aside to consider a locomotive. The 121 if produced would be well into design/on the market unless of course it is not. The A would by far and away be the most popular diesel to produce. A J15 perhaps but I don;t know if that would be as popular with people buying multiple. That's a given for me if there was a quality A class. At least one of each livery:trains:
  13. JHC, Noel! Are you supplying the Chinese or what?
  14. That's pretty certain, I would have thought
  15. The glaucoma is under control, Jim. My original post is quoted in your reply above. I thought about it and realized it was 1981 (second edition). The good news is that is just turned up at long last! Threatening to buy another one must've done the trick:banana: Hmmm, not sure why it's sideways. I thought this only happened with iPads and the like….
  16. Thought you might. It'll go well with thou other B'n'Ts and GSVs etc:tumbsup: Without daylight or some standardized lighting, shade and flash photography can throw a whole different light on the shade of green (if you'll pardon the pun). You can't make the detail out on the BnTs either as the black isn't properly exposed/contrasted (if that makes sense). Anyway, JB, you and a certain Mr O' Rourke seem to be acknowledged as consultants on the design/livery:ROFL:
  17. Kits or rtr , Noel?
  18. No, Jim, thanks! Justed wanted to peruse , can't find it and it's bugging me. Actually have travel & Traction. Little one is better for freight from my recollection
  19. I've misplaced my copy of this book from 1981 with NIR 111 on the cover. If anyone has a copy, would you please PM me. Thanks K
  20. Quite right, Jim. It does say packs. That's much better. Rtm! 111 will go pretty quickly which was my concern . If it's 333 then yes that would be a percentage of coarse. Phew! Of course when someone orders 4 packs the percentage should increase by 1%.
  21. That progress counter on the website seems to have left real time and is stuck on 40 (of 111, I presume). Considering a few more wagons, so it would be nice to know when it is approaching 111.
  22. I know that, Fran. I was just echoing your 'covering' post on the other thread:cheers:
  23. Well Fran, not a fly by night job, I hope! You guys were pretty much discovered by iarnrod back in May http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/4896-New-model-company?highlight=baggot+street Yours was the first unusual response on the thread followed by Richie's denial. Iarnrod, Hawaiian shirt and get the Ferrari back out of the shed:cool: (let me know if the fertilizer wagons or Taras are coming after the bubble)
  24. And now you have time for the Mrs instead ……………………..or you could just scratch build another of those fantastic buildings!
  25. Amazing! Are there any photos of that anywhere?
