    Tend to agree with John on this one as the new Cavan and Leitrim book which did not impress me much got a good review. Yet the new Green bible got a bit of a roasting at times when it is crammed with useful detail such as where the records are of some key loco builders etc!

    During the latter years of WW2 the Lough Swilly due to severe coal shortages used turf and even wood as they could not get coal for their steam locos.

    Good guess then! Have picked up a few nice photos of 27 at York Road in 1965 recently. Thanks whatever I do they seem to go on a tilt! Nice view of the rear of a Class 5 loco and this was the first to go in 1940. Looks well in black!

    The County Donegal csrried oil in tank wagons from the port in Derry to the fishing boats at Killybegs in particular.

    According to Journall 11 DNGR Locos 2,3,4 and 6 were moved from Dundalk to Sutton on April 13 1952. As No 1 had went to Adelaide and No 5 was scrapped already then they are all accounted for.
