Barl - great progress on the layout - the permanent way is amazingly real looking you've achieved a great look with that. I love the churchyard and the trees, the trainspotter on the fence over the tunnel mouth is classic as are the punters outside the pub. Your DMU looks absolutely bril - very jealous. Keep posting the progress please.

Hi Gordon71, I can't seem to get the photos with that link? -
Hi Patrick, Great scene, love the viaduct -there is a couple of fine examples on the DSER at Rathdrum. You obviously like the A class and they do look well. The mixed goods harks back to a more relaxing era on Irish railways and the passenger train with the A and MK1 GV is very atmospheric. Lovely scenery and layout.

Thanks lads, thats that A class is down to the master's handiwork.

It looks magnificent and very realistic.

Another bit of running on The Brickworks, timber train needs a few more wagons and the scenics around the short branch need to be brought up to scratch. Getting there slowly though. [video=youtube_share;9oSRglYWD0g]

Hi Walter, Thanks for showing my son the german train set - a super one it is for younger modellers. I think it will be going to the top of his Santa list!

Great looking machine Georgeconna, Isn't that the American aircraft that was nicknamed 'Tankbuster'? I think it was used to deadly effect against ground targets in the first gulf war? Great stuff there she must be a joy to fly.

Apologies, if this one has been posted already but very much worth seeing again me thinks.

Rich I had a similar pleasure around 2006 final years of beet campaign. A 121 and 141 paired up and we were coming up laden to the Taylorstown viaduct with sever banging noises under the 121, I was curious and asked the driver - he said she was slipping badly on the bank. A pair of them are awesome looking machines and many a time they'd be on the Rosslare-Connolly link back in the good old days. Also remember travelling to Belfast behind two of them pulling a 7 or 8 MK IIs and in the days when much of that route was still jointed track (1992/93), and I'd say she did a better timing than those being achieved today.

Thanks Glenderg, I will catch up with him at that great academic institution on the long weekend.

To big Dave - are you attending the Bray show on 20th? If yes, can you bring out one hornby timber wagon (Irish style) many thanks? Tommy.

Thanks josefstadt for those wonderful photos and details of the Longford derailment. Did it take them long to get 036 back in traffic? and am I right in thinking that A10 was written off later in the Lisburn smash with an 80 class?
-
Have to agree with the contributors Eamonn, she is absolutely class and looks equally smashing on the Bells and the Cravens. Gerry's layout completes the scene.

Hi all I had a bit of a go at converting a BR MK I brake to an IR gen van. Very amateur effort but I'm trying my best to make a fist of it and am enjoying it. Some boxes underneath have not be moved (and won't be)! and painting to be finished. I know it's way below the standards achieved here but great enjoyment for me and getting a bit more confidence as I go.
