Thanks for sharing those images, @David Holman; I remember seeing that RM article about the High Weald Light Railway back in the '90s. Superb modelling!

Edenderry had a two-road engine shed. It did have a turntable, however. In fact, due to limited space it was used in lieu of a set of points to allow the loco access to the loop from the platform road in order to run around its train... Track plan here: https://bit.ly/2xVqei2

@jhb171achill - here's a crudely enhanced version your photo just to make the scene appear a little brighter and easier to appreciate. Done rather quickly and roughly on a phone app rather than PhotoShop, so not as good as it could be... Looks like there's a cement bubble sitting just beyond the end of the platform...

Going off topic slightly, but regarding Fenit... I think I recall seeing somewhere that one of the old self-propelling steam crane that worked out on the pier at the end of the line had been preserved after withdrawal and was plinthed on the entrance to the village. Am I imagining things? If not, does anyone know what happened to it?

Could be like 'Float' on the Inny Junction-Cavan branch? I believe the name was given to it by the MGWR... As for Rocksavage, there was a D L Savage French who was the CBSCR's deputy chairman at one time. Might be a family connection?

Nice find! Am I seeing things or is that a steam crane near the end of the siding at the bottom right?

Would have been double-tracked at that time, too... Here's the track layout from around the time @Midland Man is aiming for: https://bit.ly/2QJNJB1

No breach under the terms of UK Crown Copyright, in addition to the website's own T&Cs.

A closer look... It appears to have side tanks. Possibly one of the 4-4-2Ts that became the 'C2' class in GSR service? A very handsome locomotive.

https://www.forces.net/news/raf-typhoons-intercept-russian-bombers-third-time-week A pair of TU-160 Blackjack strategic bombers this time, so nothing to do with maritime reconnaissance.

You need to divide by 76.2, not 76. That makes it 18.83mm (rounded up), which matches P4 gauge. EM leaves a little more room to maneuver, to help with reliable running, etc.

Interesting view from a retired Defence Forces general: "State would need 16 fighter jets for full air defence capability, expert says" https://www.irishtimes.com/news/ireland/irish-news/state-would-need-16-fighter-jets-for-full-air-defence-capability-expert-says-1.4184846

I was wondering why the bids are still relatively low... then I realised that they're 3ft 6in gauge!

The upper 'wing' always faced forward on steam loco tenders.

MRJ should be available in Eason's on O'Connell St in Dublin. Haven't seen it in their regional outlets, though...

I'm curious as to how the kits came to be named after one of the locomotives, rather than the class designation (MGWR E/GSR J26). Without a doubt these are my favourite Irish tank locomotives - beautiful wee things.

Hi Lucas, Per forum rules, can you please list each item and its price? Thanks!

The arrival & departure boards at Santa Apolónia station in Lisbon featured the logo when I visited in 2015: It had been removed when I returned last summer, however.

Cork, Blackrock & Passage 00 gauge locomotive SOLD
Garfield replied to DERAILED's topic in For Sale or Wanted
I remember seeing this locomotive years ago and it is a lovely model, although I think it's 7mm scale running on OO track? Well worth the money. -
Buyers will ultimately pay what they feel the item is worth, so if they can get them for €200 a pop from you, Chris or others then that's great and they're not going to hand over £1000 to that eBay seller. He'll learn his lesson when he's left with unsold stock. As I said in my first post, we can laugh or give out yards about silly prices when they're highlighted, and once they're highlighted anyone here that sees it knows to avoid. It still doesn't mean it's right to berate the seller on a personal level by saying they should feel ashamed.
