  1. Hi BTB, Just to clarify, you emailed us twice on November 12th and I responded to both emails. By the tone of the second message, it appeared you had not received the first one, so maybe our responses were directed to your spam folder? Also... the ballasts and gypsums are beings shipped directly to Dublin.
  2. Still available, but moving at a decent pace. They should be here in less than a fortnight.
  3. They could get grubby when they were out and about for a while...

    C202

It's currently stored in a top secret location.
  5. Hi Controller, The decoder on sale is for the locos as re-engined with the General Motors power unit. To record a Crossley engine of the type originally used in the locos (and the one required for A1) we need access to a preserved X Class engine in Australia as there are no other operational locomotives with this engine type, but plans to do this have been affected firstly by wild fires in the region at the turn of the year and more recently by COVID-19 restrictions. We'll get it done as soon as possible!
  6. Only a matter of time now until the layout is populated with CIÉ locos and is renamed 'Charlestown into the 80's', @Si2020...
  7. I wouldn't say the A Class were "ancient" in 1972 - they were only 17 years old and in terms of technology were on a par with the GMs of the time, which were only 6-11 years younger (depending on class), and in their 12-645E engines they had a newer block design than the 121s and 141s. By comparison, the 201 Class were already 12 years old by the time the CAF Mk4s were introduced...
  8. Both Roco and Fleischmann are now owned by Modelleisenbahn GmbH. A few years ago they took the decision to have each brand focus on a specific scale, so Roco is now the brand catering for HO scale products while Fleischmann is exclusively N scale. It's possible the Profi track may reappear as a Roco product.
  9. Glad you like the sounds! Still have that Napier drone ringing in our ears after the recording session. The Rails/NRM and Rails/DPS special editions are available exclusively from those outlets.
  10. It's an issue for all manufacturers, not just smaller ones, if it's a product that hasn't been produced for some time; it's normally only viable to produce extra spares while the main item is being manufactured.
  11. It's 5ft, same as Russia. Not as wide as ours but still wider than 'standard'...
  12. Nice find, @LM186! Definitely looks like a 30-footer.

The forum software had to be upgraded to keep abreast of security requirements and other unseen elements, but the developers also tweaked the design as part of the upgrade so it automatically implemented that change, too. Nothing can be done about it. I appreciate some users don't like change, but as with previous changes no one's going to care too much about it in another couple of weeks when everyone has become familiar with the new layout.
  14. Nail on the head. The A Class exhaust system is pretty basic in that there's essentially three holes in the roof for the three exhaust manifolds to release gases and fumes through - nothing more complicated than that! It certainly did give them a distinctive sound in comparison to other EMD-engined locomotives. We will have an update in the next few weeks that include a sound demo, which we're excited for everyone else to hear...
  15. Needs must. They were offered good money and they needed funds to go towards their other restoration projects. NIR had removed the engines and other equipment before handing them over so it would have been very unlikely they could have been restored to running condition in preservation. Anyway, one of them is still in Wales so you never know, it might find its way back...
  16. Distribution from our combined IRM/Accurascale warehouse & fulfilment centre is the most cost-effective option, especially as we no longer have storage or shipping facilities here due to having no need for it.
  17. The list above is a bit random as it leaves out some of our IR livery locos but includes some running numbers which will wear older liveries. The IR liveries are: 017 - stopped 29.09.93 036 - stopped 19.12.94 048 - stopped 24.05.94 054 - stopped 28.07.93 Supertrain/IR hybrid: 007 - stopped 14.10.90 056 - stopped 29.10.92
  18. This model of 12L is on course to be the best I've seen of a CB&PR 2-4-2T, which in my opinion were one of the most elegant locos to run on any of the narrow gauge lines here. Top work!
  19. Looks like you'll be channeling the spirit of Fred Dibnah for this one, @warb... excellent work!
  20. We'd love to have them for ourselves as much as anybody else, but if we let our hearts rule our heads then we wouldn't last very long...
  21. The phrase after the section you've highlighted is the key point there. We'll continue to run the numbers in the hope that it will become viable at some point, so in that sense it has not been ruled out, but it is certainly not viable at this point in time. At the end of the day, the issue is market size rather than concern over a higher than normal RRP.
  22. With all due respect, we already know it's not feasible. To make it viable we would need to produce three times more spray vans than the total number of weedspray wagon sets we've produced, which simply doesn't add up.
  23. I'm not overly-familiar with the coach so I can't say for certain, but I wouldn't think any external modifications would be required for the storage heaters as these likely fitted in under seats, and I don't think CIE would have gone to the trouble of removing the steam heating equipment. A socket would have been needed for the shore supply, but I'm not sure if this was located externally or if the power cable was simply run through an open window...
  24. The branch coach had storage heaters fitted so that a GSV wasn't required. It would have been hooked up to a shore supply overnight.
