Wouldn't be trustful of Irish auctions and the posters they offer. Could well be a laserjet printoff stuck in a cheap frame.

I see that there's a producer of replica vintage Irish travel posters now, these could well be passed off as the real thing.

Sold for €260🫣

Ridiculous price.

IE cast these for bridges a few years back, not such a good idea as they're all disappearing now!

I wouldn't be giving out too much, about the auction houses, they basically don't have a clue about railways. They sell a load of absolute shite. Buyer beware.

I've bought a lot of non railway stuff from the South Dublin auctions. They're completely legit, great to deal with, clueless about railways, so a lot of junk, but pearls amongst the swine.

Victor Mee is the same, that LYR poster about Bray looks legit though, upon close up.

This is 100% genuine, bought from South Dublin, like I said, pearl amongst swine.

The Tipp - Kilmallock (sic.) one is a nice example of staff "recycling".

Expand

Given Kilmallock should not have needed a single line staff, that one is odd. I guess there could have been temporary single line working, but that usually is associated with bridge renewal.

Some of these were just ground frames in a glorified garden shed. Maam cross has a ground frame with a mini staff release.

Looked at the wonderful IRRS Photographic archive. Not an Annett's key either, but control levers between "A" and "B". "B" would have been a small ground level cabin of the same design as Birr or Charleville "B".

I'd still like to know what the staff was for though...

Unbelievable...

Is there no way of reporting or preventing this type of false sale?

Next - a genuine Bandon, Mallow & Western Rly. station laptop from 1886?

In fairness, anybody caught by this sort stuff deserves what they get. Can't blame the auctioneers in this case and there's lots of genuinely interesting items in the sale.
