Agree strongly heirflick, a busy crossing scene has been captured here and you can all remember this scenario happening and the mighty humming of the locos as they rested as staffs etc were exchanged, even members of the public and ordinary passengers couldn't help but to look on with curiosity and amazement.

Thanks Enniscorthyman, Heirflick, Kirley, Richrua and Sulzer201.

Enniscorthyman- Your crossing was a big inspiration for me to get my own one. I'd get the semaphores too if I had a place for them.

Video to follow.

Superb photo. I thought it was a real photo taken in the rain. The lens flare looks deadly! R

Been a bit dry on the workbench...

Next up is a small upgrade for my mk2ds which consist of both Murphy and Lima models. Mainly just fitting close couplings to fix that massive gap between the Murphy coaches using Roco type couplings between coaches and Kadees at the ends of rakes and also fixing the glazing on the Lima coaches.

I'm also trying to finish off a rake of Craven coaches (5 standards + 1 snack car + GSV), a rake of Galway mk2s (4 standards + 1 restaurant + EGV) and a rake of IE black roofed mk2s (2 standards + 1 composite + 1 restaurant + EGV).

As for locos I hope to acquire at some stage 077, a 141, a 181 and 230.

Here's a video I uploaded tonight of 201 and a rake of Cravens at several locations around the layout.

Nice work there gm I like the station buildings the 201 and the set - different coaches in the set compliment each other well. The crossing always looks well and is very authentic too.

I found these MIR beer keg pallets today. They're in quite bad condition in comparison to the first page of this thread. The idea would be to get these back to a good standard for the release of the IRM keg wagons.

The pallets have been reassembled and repainted. I've reduced the depth of the kegs, drilled a hole in the top of each to make them more realistic and repainted them.

I originally painted these figures 8 or 9 years ago. The paint was starting to chop off and I thought I could do better now so I stripped them down and repainted them. Tried to paint the uniforms to resemble ones of IÉ and then applied a wash over them. IMG_20200504_024210.thumb.jpg.7290f5ad42c1306d007448098490d5fd.jpg

So I tried to make a wire loop around the back of these rail ramps so that they can be slotted onto the lamp irons of wagons as in real life. Apparently its just not possible. It's a gigantic pain to actually get to the point where you glue the wire to the lamp and it just doesn't stick or at least is too delicate to last.

The best solution for this is to use Deluxe 'Tacky-Wax' to hold them on, then they can be easily removed and attached elsewhere.....

Eoin

I took your advice. Thank you.

I have also detailed a wagon from each rake. This involved adding tail lamps from Glenderg models, instanter couplings from Accurascale and removing the function Coupling. I also added the anti theft barrier to one of the container wagons.

I bought some Kadees to see how they look and perform. Fairly happy with them. Only issue is I need to remove the Coupling hooks from my locos which isn't ideal as I like to have them fully detailed.

The Kadees I am using at 18s. Are these too close? Can anyone advise?

Depends on the radius of your tightest curves. I used 19's on my locos.

I recently converted my 141's, 071's and 201's to draft box Kadees. This allow me to attach all the buffer hook beam hoses and the valance. The hook still has to be removed though.
