leslie10646 Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Hi IRM, I've been billed for my grain wagons in DOLLARS! Any reason? Or is it a typo, or is it SPAM!!!! From: irishrailwaymodels@email.preproduct.io Looks fishy. Hope it's not! 1 Quote
BosKonay Posted January 13 Posted January 13 It’s just an alert they are nearly here. Log in at the website normally to check the order. We’re making a raft of website upgrades and simplifications over the coming weeks which will make life easier as we go forward Quote
John-r Posted January 13 Posted January 13 I have just been billed for my grain wagons as well, even though I have already paid for them some months back, do I just ignore or will I be charged again. Quote

You e not been billed just an email saying they are on the way and if you’ve not paid we’ll process payment in the next few days. Quote

DiveController Posted January 15 Posted January 15 (edited) ON the flip side of the coin, it seems I can no longer purchase models using the US dollar which seems to have disappeared from the drop down list of currencies on the website. However those of you in UAE and Liechtenstein are good to go..... Hopefully this was not in the anticipated raft of improvements on the website? @BosKonay Edited January 15 by DiveController 1 Quote
leslie10646 Posted January 15 Author Posted January 15 My bill came in last night and I paid up. MORE stock! Where am I going to put them? And I've three H Vans coming ...... I've already included on the layout every goods siding that Portadown Jct had and they're full! As soon as they arrive, I'll give them a run with my new Bulleid toy - which I'm off to finish running in! 2 Quote
leslie10646 Posted January 15 Author Posted January 15 Actually, there is more room than I thought. The Enniskillen Shipper and a goods for the Derry Road (with a borrowed A Class) are in the two goods loops, there's room in the sidings for a few more, as you can see ....... IMG_1279.MOV There's building work going on and if I moved that drill, I'd get another ten wagpons in those sidings for starters! 2 Quote
leslie10646 Posted January 15 Author Posted January 15 What's this? ANOTHER INVOICE! Another three wagons to find a home for. The H vans themselves, in case you're wondering. I see the Grains are sold out - well done lads. 2 Quote

Perhaps your 'CC1' should be coupled up to a long train of vans to free up some siding space? 1 Quote
Mol_PMB Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Off-topic, I spotted these in your sidings, which look great! Did you do a Provincial Wagons kit at some stage? I was wondering about making one from a modified Parkside kit. Quote

Hopefully this was not in the anticipated raft of improvements on the website? @BosKonay Customer service shut down about three weeks ago and hasn't started back again. They vanished in the middle of trying to fix an accounting cock-up in their software, charging me an extra €20 for a loco already paid for, and also grouping four January orders into one shipment, and haven't replied to any emails since. I'd guess that there's a problem with their websites again, as both IRM and A/S sales websites have been unreliable over the years. A prominent currency vanishing sounds like something caused by the same kind of bug that's trying to change the price of my loco. I'm sure all will be sorted when they get back from the Christmas break. On the plus side, I received a shipping notification for my Ruston yesterday. The lads were grouping that, the Class 31 with the cocked-up bill (and additional retroactive postage charge), the H Vans and the Heljan Fuel Tanks, into one shipment just before they vanished for holidays, so I assume they shipped all four together yesterday, yay! Mayner Posted Saturday at 21:10 Posted Saturday at 21:10 Its possible that some of the issues experienced with currencies and billing may be related to Shopify/Shop-pay systems issues and may be largely outside the control of individual merchants like IRM. I have experienced similar issues with currencies both as a merchant and as a customer, both as a result of changes in Shopify terms and conditions and software issues. Before Christmas a US 'Narrow Gauge Shopify site 'thought" I was in South Africa and quoted prices in Rand until I reached the check out and 'realised" that I was in New Zealand, and would not accept a US delivery address as an alternative to the address on the "Shoppay" system. I had been looking forward to buying a rare Rio Grande Southern book and finding myself buying the book but unable to change the delivery address. It turned out ok in the end the seller providing a refund the book was out of stock and managed to source a replacement theough Amazon Marketplace at a lower price, the seller being a library support group from the Pacific NorthWest so not a bad ending. One of the issues with the Shoppay system is that it retains the customers credit-debit card details for use on Shopify transactions, although I received an IRM invoice for a pre-order of Grain Wagons, Shoppay automatically debited my account after IRM issued the invoice rather than my pressing the "pay-now" button on the invoice I have no problem with the price or shipping cost of the wagons which are a good bargain. I guess my problem is with the insidious nature of the current generation of electronic payment systems which are eroding consumer control. 1 Quote
