  1. But I only have a finite number of walls to display them on. At this rate, I'll be building dividing walls all over the place just to display the models in their boxes! That's a fabulous list, Blaine. Clicking "Like" once doesn't seem enough. Might be an idea, if it were possible, to put some sort of graphic on the website, reflecting Blaine's list? Or even to have the first item on the "Features" list for each loco identifying the appropriate stock? As in "This X livery loco no. X will be ideal for hauling A, B, C, D, E etc" ...
  2. So, you're saying that I need to buy a lot more A Classes than I thought...
  3. So, of the above, which would have run with which livery A-Class?
  4. That's the crux of it right there for a manufacturer. Finding the right point in the supply/demand curve to start on a project that might take them a few years to deliver.
  5. Slightly off-topic and slightly-on, but of our current / possible-near-future roster of MM and IRM RTR rolling stock, both passenger and freight, what would suit which A Class? Single-stripe Cravens... Twin-stripe cravens... ST Mk2D's... IR Mk2D's... IE Mk2D's... Not sure if they ever hauled any of the Mk3's on a regular basis at all? Ballast wagons... IRM weedspray train is probably too new? Gypsums... Blue Tara's... Red Tara's... Orange Bubbles... Grey Bubbles... Ivory Bubbles... 42' Container Liners... Fert Liners... Guinness Keg Liners... Would be nice to have a kind of compatibility list or chart. I haven't included Silver Fox or IFM stock as it is not / was not exactly readily available.
  6. I understand you now. Yeah, that goes without saying. The A's and 121's have raised the bar on the technical side of things, lessons have been learned with the 121 hand-rails, vacuum hoses and packaging, but the technical side of things is now 15 odd years on from when the 141's were first released. But we will see more of them at some stage, from one manufacturer or another, of that I am confident.
  7. Sorry, but I haven't a clue what you're trying to say. In one breath it looks like you're saying that nobody will release 141's etc in the future, and in another it looks like you're saying that somebody will have to release them.
  8. LOL, of course there'll be re-runs at some stage. You think that manufacturers will sit back if there's a gap in the market and say "Nah, let's not bother selling what we can sell, let them paint Hornby Class 25's orange from now on" ?
  9. Ugh, those steam engines all look alike!
  10. No pun intended?
  11. I'd give it a couple of years and see if there are more runs of certain locos. Obviously, some people will say that they'll never be run again, other will ignore the economics and say that there should be X, Y and Z run tomorrow, but striking a balance between those two poles, re-runs are an inevitability. There are a couple of 141's for sale at €250 each on adverts.ie at the moment, but that's far too much, in my humble opinion. Not saying that they won't sell, they definitely will, but as the 121's and A's show, €190 is what a brand spanking new loco with all of the current features is worth. I hope you've ordered yourself a few A's???
  12. Possible. I'm on the mobile and not actually logged in, so it just shows a price of €460 plus shipping, but doesn't mention the tax.
  13. Sorry, stupid question: How do you get the local import tax figure?
  14. Wow, that is just gorgeous! I have a few commissioned through Chris Dyer, and your photo has me even more excited about getting them, now!
  15. Lovely to see some IRM stock, some MM stock, a GSV of some sort, some impressive green buses, and even a City Imp, all plonked on a lovely looking layout!
  16. The day is young, yet, still four and a half hours to sunset.
  17. It's a running joke, I think. Connolly asks about the A's every 24 hours, in a different thread each time. He jumped the gun the other day and asked after 21 hours but that post vanished!
  18. €200 would be an OK price for those sets, mainly based on their value as collectibles. As for rolling stock, we have MM Mk2D's and Mk3's coming over the next few years, so not worth it.
  19. Once there are no product launches during those six odd hours!
  20. You're lucky you edited that post, or I'd have been posting rotten eggs to somebody up there to throw at your windows!
  21. Jaysus, you anti-collector "trains must be played with" nazis would lose your minds if you visited my house.
  22. Don't be so cruel, not everybody has 28 degree-latitude climate... You know damn well that three hundred days a year up there, it goes dawn-dusk-night-repeat... A serious question, though. Are those freight wagons actually converted passenger stock or something?
  23. The weather wouldn't be change enough for ya?
  24. I'll second that, Edo. The economy down here is probably about 95% tourism, so even though the impact on me personally has been the opposite, more hours, no breaks, I see the devastation all around me. At the same time, people are itching to travel, emailing about apartments every time there is even a hint of restrictions easing. They just can't wait to get out and fly somewhere. Once a critical mass have been vaccinated, and travel starts up again, there'll be a years worth of pent-up need to fly unleashed all at once. Fingers crossed that it's not too much longer for you.
