  1. I've filled out the survey, and would second a few members in a preserved loco being my preference. Thank you for the time and effort that you've put into this!
  2. Thanks! It's just lovely to have such amazing quality RTR Irish stock to be able to run when the time happens to be available. Todays era of MM and IRM is one that I never could have envisioned ten years ago.
  3. Ah, I'm sure that there are more on the way from ESU. It wouldn't have made sense for MM to order millions of chips in one go, then have that money tied up in something sitting on the shelves for a few years. These chips probably would suit the 141's / 181's as well, so there are a lot more locos out there in need of chips, aside from the 121's. Reading some of the posts on here, in particular from @murphaph , DCC is a different animal nowadays. It's gone from being Windows 3.1 running on DOS 6 to being its own OS, so there has to be far greater demand than there was in the old days.
  4. Yeah, and Marks Models only have the 567's left: https://www.marksmodels.com/?pid=36831
  5. Number 90 now out of stock! Don't miss the number 91, 'cause you won't have three come along all at once... https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/vehicles/products/dublin-bus-rail-link-91-connolly-station
  6. Oops, make that 36!
  7. Only 38 IR livery Ballast Ploughs left! Time to buy as they'll fly off the shelves once the next run of Ballast Hoppers are available!
  8. I wonder if the thread title could be changed to: "Replacement (Non-OEM) Parts for OO Gauge Model Railway Locos and Coaches" Can anybody suggest an alternative for a Murphy Models 141/181 detailing kit, specifically the horns? I mean, there must be spares out there for other models that have at least a passing resemblance? Thank you!
  9. A few photos taken today... The Correos (postal service) trucks are 1:87 and not as highly detailed as the Oxfords, but they remind me of the pain that Correos put me through waiting on my orders almost every single time.
  10. I shouldn't really have had a running session today, but was excited at receiving my IRM Empty Flats and a package of Baby GMs from @Look-its-evan! Excuse the squeaking, but I hadn't time for lubing anything - lubing up is a weekend thing.
  11. Some fabulous weathering on those models, particularly B134!
  12. Barely fifty packs left! It's brilliant to see IRM's products selling out so quickly! Great sign for the future, and for the growth of the Irish market itself.
  13. A few pictures of some of the road vehicles in my collection. The City Imp is probably one of my favourites, with the DAF not far behind.
  14. Two nice packs, but crazy prices: https://www.ebay.es/itm/LIMA-MURPHY-MODELS-L149439-1-IRISH-RAIL-COACH-PACK-2-XMK3-1X-MSD-RARE-ITEM/193698971710?hash=item2d195bc03e:g:HmAAAOSwPeJffDSP https://www.ebay.es/itm/LIMA-MURPHY-MODELS-L149439-1-IRISH-RAIL-COACH-PACK-2-XMK3-1X-MSD-RARE-ITEM/193698971710?hash=item2d195bc03e:g:HmAAAOSwPeJffDSP
  15. The FREMO concept is complete modularity, yeah? So if you and a friend both have layouts built on FREMO boards, you could combine your modules to make a larger layout?
  16. Thanks for the update.
  17. So P20 is more likely than P47. Ah FUD that, I wanted IRM 47ft flats!
  18. So rather than an IRM project, the 40ft beet containers may be something more suited to @Arran
  19. Thank you. I'm not a hardcore modeller like some of the miracle workers on the forum, I just like trains, static and dynamic! Although, I am going to try put together a slightly larger simpleton layout for Christmas:
  20. I don't really have a layout, just a board that slides under the bed for running sessions, so I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this video:
  21. Yes, this would be wonderful! Lovely 1994 footage of a Bell Liner train with a CIE 20' box at the end, starting around 21:40:
  22. Wow, those Symoba 362 NEM pockets look perfect, and their drawbars are awesome!
  23. Do the Bachmann Y25 bogies come with NEM pockets or do these need to be glued on? If they need to be glued on, where did you source the NEM pockets?
  24. Thanks, @Mayner, very informative as always. So, from a manufacturers point of view, there'd be a lot less mileage from a P47 than there was from P42, or would be from a P20? It's a shame that they have had such limited useage through their life as they do cover quite a long period. An awful lot of the containers on the liners today, according to YouTube videos, appear to be 45ft, so some 47ft wagons are essential for 2020 modellers. I'll have a read of Nile's thread on RMWeb, thank you!
