  1. While the title would seem misleading to some, UP and NS are proposing to merge into a single "railroad" company in 2027, subject to shareholder and STB approval. The company will retain the UP name. The blurb states: Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern announced an agreement to create America’s first transcontinental railroad. These legendary companies will seamlessly connect over 50,000 route miles across 43 states from the East Coast to the West Coast, linking approximately 100 ports and nearly every corner of North America. This combination will transform the U.S. supply chain, unleash the industrial strength of American manufacturing and create new sources of economic growth and workforce opportunity that preserves union jobs. https://www.up-nstranscontinental.com/
  2. I did a small diorma of the shed a few years ago, not to much scale or detail though:
  3. I started a cut and shut on the dapol wagons several years ago but never got very far with them - perhaps now is the time to get them back on the workbench.
  4. Best wishes Leslie, I'm glad to have a number of your double beet wagons among some others.
  5. Ours brought a hare through the cat flap recently, and many smaller gifts over the summer.
  6. IRM do a super job with communication, much better than many others. Keeping us informed at every step.
  7. Not to get too technical, it's been a while since I've wired anything, but this website is great for layout electrics: https://www.brian-lambert.co.uk/Electrical-Page-2.html The below image from that site shows a potential issue of shorting as the train crosses the frog if not dealt with correctly:
  8. Could you design a slot in the print to hold the nut? While space is probably limited in this model, I have desinged prints to take rivnuts which I glue in place, and they act as a threaded insert for a bolt - might be an option.
  9. I took some video of the Bord na Mona system near Edenderry power station in October 2023 while they were still carrying peat to the plant.

  10. I'd say don't bother with the clips, solder wire connections if you can - they might not be needed depending where your other power feeds are.
  11. That appears to be correct looking at this old map
  12. They are unpowered so should be ok for a DCC layout.
  13. @BosKonay does it take a while for partial.ly payments to show up in your IRM account?
  14. Nice ground cover, have you considered misting over the completed scene with more PVA to set it all solid?
  15. This is one of my favourite layouts on the forum. Looking forward to the next iteration!
  16. Has anyone watched this series on Youtube? I found it quite good at the time:
  17. I'd rather try the proper way for this, but being that it is aluminium I may be able to use a router sled if all else fails
  18. I am looking for access to a milling machine. I have some aluminium T-track for slotting into the track on a table saw and I need to reduce the height of the T-track by probably less that 1mm. I have three of these that are 450mm in length that I need done. If there is anyone who couold help in the Wexford/Waterford area or anyone that I could send them to, I would appreciate it. Thanks
  19. I did a Bachmann 150 conversion to the commuter livery a few years ago. I made a few physical changes including filing off the roof ridges at the cab ends and filling in the small window behind the cab and replacing with a vent (some plasticard will do the job). I also changed the lighting circuits which was quite tedious. It's on my workbench if you want some inspiration:
  20. I also got an offer - never noticed the option to send out offers on any of my listings. I once received a message from a person on an item that I was selling, didn't bother responding just blocked them
